Practical Max 1-A

"Stretta plays household items like musical instruments."

via The Stretta Procedure

"Cycling 74 debuts a new video series in which I demonstrate some practical uses of Max and share the patches I make. In this first episode, I'm exploring what can be done with some inexpensive piezo mic elements and Tristan Jehan's analyzer~ external. But really, I'm just having an embarrassing amount of fun."

"Same bassline as in a previous video ... this time in a funkafied version.

Bass - Doepfer MAQ 16/3 + Doepfer A-100
Lead - provided by alien radio: http://www.myspace.com/alienradioplus

I cheated a bit in the video .. it's not exactly recorded live."

Beat707 XT Prototype

via Beat707.com
"Beat707 XT first prototype pcb. 16 faders, 6 encoders, 4 buttons+leds for selection. No Arduino needed, just plugs into your original Beat707 I2C (TWI) interface. (4 wires, including voltage and ground) Soon we will release videos of it.

We should also mention that this is the exact same width of the Beat707 device. So it will follow the 16 step-buttons positions for the faders. The Beat707 XT allows you to use it as a Mixer or for the S1/S2 tracks in an Analog Style Step Sequencer. (see the other YouTube video for an example)"

Beat707 BigTime

YouTube Uploaded by beat707videos on Jul 21, 2011

This turns an ATtiny85/45 + 7-Segment 4-Digit Clock LED into a Beat + Measure display that connects to the Beat707 unit using only 4 wires. (TWI / I2C - SDA, SCL, Ground and 5V+)

Hardware used: ATtiny85 (using its internal Oscillator) - CD4067 Multiplexer - C595 Shift Register (serial input - 8 x parallel output) - 82 ohm resistor - 4 digits 7 segments LED clock display - ISP programmer (Arduino as an ISP device or USBtinyISP)

The great thing about this is that it doesn't hog on any of the free pins, it uses the shared I2C/TWI interface, which uses 4 wires and can have multiple devices sharing the same interface."

Vintage ROLAND AP-2 Phase II

via this auction

"The Phase II is the smaller, stripped down version of the Phase Five. It has a very pretty, high-quality phase shift--very different from a Small Stone or a Phase 90, but still classic and 70's sounding."

KENT K-2200 Rhythm System

via this auction

"The K-2200 is a unique 70's rhythm box because it has a decay knob, which sounds especially nice on the kick drum. This Kent is extra special because it was modified (by Switched On Music Electronics) with trigger inputs for the different sounds. Mated with a modular synthesizer, you get nine vintage drum sounds accessible via patch cables. Triggering at audio rate is especially interesting."
