MidiBridge & SynthStation25 Allows Control of any CoreMIDI iPhone App!

YouTube Uploaded by idesignsound on Nov 29, 2011

"Here is a quick video showing how the MidiBridge app let's you use the Akai SynthStation25 to control any app that supports CoreMIDI (not just those that are compatible with the SS25).

Here I used BeepStreets SunrizerXS and CamelAudio's Alchemy Mobile, neither of which are currently compatible with the SS25.

At the end of the video you'll see that you can use MidiBridge to send the SS25 to two apps at the same time, so you can layer up! This means that MidiBridge is still useful for apps that are compatible with the SS25 as two or more apps patches can be layered to be played at the same time.

Sorry I didn't pick a great patch for Alchemy (bit quiet).

TOS

YouTube Uploaded by organfairy on Nov 29, 2011

"or Top Octave Synthesizer. In most electronic organs - and some synthesizers - from the 1970's the notes were generated by an integrated circuit that could make the top 12 notes from a single master frequency.
In this video I make a version of the TOS using only standard components. I will use it for something later...

The music is something I made in 2003 using Yamaha HE-8 and Technics SX-C600 organs, Roland JX-8P synthesizer and CR-1000 drum machine."

"In this video, the first in a new series, Executive Director Michelle Moog-Koussa talks about the inspiration for founding the Bob Moog Foundation."

via The Bob Moog Foundation newsletter:

"In August, the Bob Moog Foundation celebrated our 5th anniversary!

In gratitude and appreciation for everyone who helped make these 5 years possible, we have created fun series of short videos called Points of Inspiration, to be aired in the coming weeks.

In this series, we'll be bringing you artists from Moogfest, showing off the magic that happens in Dr. Bob's SoundSchool and sharing a few surprises, like a peek at house and property where Bob Moog harnessed his own inspiration!

The first in our series is an introduction from Michelle Moog-Koussa, Executive Director. Take a look at Point of Inspiration: From Genesis to Innovative Projects here.

The series of videos will be posted on our IndieGoGo.com campaign for Dr. Bob's SoundSchool. Please go to the site and leave us a comment sharing one of your Points of Inspiration.

Thanks for helping us celebrate 5 years of igniting creativity through Bob Moog's indelible legacy!

Charlie Chaplin through a Bode Frequency Shifter

"Just a little demo video to show the condition and function of a Bode Frequency Shifter."

Nice Emu modular.

via this auction

"Bode Frequency Shifter Model No. 735 Mark II. Rack mount voltage controlled frequency shifter from the workshop of the legendary Harald Bode. This unit was manufactured by the Bode Sound Co., I believe in 1973 (serial is 735207)

The unit has a 115/230 switching power supply with IEC 60320 power receptacle. Standard IEC cable is included. The unit has spent the last 38 years in a climate controlled facility, purchased directly from Harald Bode personally. Prior to auction it was fully inspected and tested with a modular synthesizer as a control voltage/sound source. All functions, jacks and panel controls are working perfectly. The sound quality is what you expect from a Bode instrument."

DIRTY ELECTRONICS MUTE SYNTH

"Mute announce the release of the Dirty Electronics Mute Synth, a specially created analogue electronic instrument, which will be available at select shops, including Rough Trade East (London) and Schneiders Buero (Berlin) and online from: http://www.mutebank.co.uk

Watch the Dirty Electronics Mute Synth in action: [posted here]
Originally created for the legendary Short Circuit presents Mute event at the Roundhouse, the Dirty Electronics Mute Synth is a hand-held touch and tilt instrument with copper etched artwork and contoured printed circuit board that was designed in collaboration Mute and long time associate, graphic designer Adrian Shaughnessy.

The instrument combines sound synthesis with a sequencer/pulser, and is controlled by the conductivity of the human body which completes the instrument’s circuit when the copper etching is touched. Designed to be played with thumbs and fingers, there are touch points on both sides of the circuit board and two tilt switches on different planes allow for gestural control of the sequencer.

Since 2003, John Richards has been exploring the idea of Dirty Electronics, focusing on face-to-face shared experiences, ritual, gesture, touch and social interaction. In Dirty Electronics, process and performance are inseparably bound and a large part of the Dirty Electronics experience is the workshop, which premiered the Mute Synth in the Roundhouse earlier this year.

Dirty Electronics recently held a workshop at the Supersonic festival in Birmingham, for further information please visit: www.dirtyelectronics.org
