twistedtools.com | Make massive layered sounds with TRANSFORM

YouTube Uploaded by twistedtools on Dec 8, 2011

"This video demonstrates how to use Transform to make massive layered sound effects like the ones heard in the original Transform trailer.

TRANSFORM is an extensive collection of field recordings, sound effects and designed sounds developed by sound designer Jean-Edouard Miclot (a.k.a. JEDSOUND). Bundled with sample mappings for many popular formats, TRANSFORM's painstakingly recorded and processed sounds will find their home in the arsenals of sound designers, editors and music producers alike.

RS7000 vrs TB303 Followup

Uploaded by zamisers7k on Dec 9, 2011

"Thanks for the 303 help guys. If you've got an RS here are the tricks. Instead of using the grid groove just enter your notes an octave up or down for transpose on that step, the accent just use a higher velocity like 127 instead of 100 normally. The hard part is the slides and I'm not sure I got it down perfect but use the job menu for Note and do a glide. The glides are in increments of 479 per quarter bar, so a 16th step equates to 119.75 incs, and the glide for a single step should just under 179.625. Of course you can only do whole numbers so... here is my chart and remember to take off about 10 increments at the end of the half glide equation or at your discretion, there may be better amounts:

0
59.875 half
119.75
179.625 half
239.5
299.125 half
359.25
419.125 half
479

You might be better off calculating with 480 incs, any way I like to make youtube videos with my TV ON, little FYI for MFing commenters."

KAWAI K5000R ADVANCED ADDITIVE SYNTHESIZER

via this auction

"Voice architecture is made of up to 6 "sources". Each source contains an additive DCO and formant filter (128 bands) in parallel with a sample based generator, which feeds a DCF and a DCA. Odd Sources (e.g. 1, 3, 5) can then amplitude modulate even Sources (e.g. 2, 4, 6) (i.e. {[DCO->DFF]+PCM->DCF->DCA}+{[DCO->DFF]+PCM->DCF->DCA}+{[DCO->DFF]+PCM->DCF->DCA}+{[DCO->DFF]+PCM->DCF->DCA}+{[DCO->DFF]+PCM->DCF->DCA}+{[DCO->DFF]+PCM->DCF->DCA}->AM). Four additive snapshots can be morphed. Ring mod uses adjacent sources. Extensive modulation capabilities are also offered (see below). The K5000W adds a percussion source (253 samples), with a dedicated DCF (low pass, resonant) and DCA, and a sequencer. There are 2 poly and 2 mono voice modes..."
