I Dream of Wires Mentioned by Martin Gore in Recent Interview

via Spin magazine where you'll find the full interview.

"Everyone I know who's into modular synthesis says that it's pretty addictive.

'I watched that documentary I Dream of Wires recently. I just related to so many of the things they were saying, when they talk about the addiction. I also watched the YouTube interview with Adrian Utley from Portishead, and he was really funny, talking about his addiction — he said it's a bit like crack.'"

MacBeth Studio Systems micromac Introduction Video

micromac introduction.mpg video upload by macbethsynthesizers on Mar 2, 2012

"Here is a video tour of the up and coming MacBeth micromac! We get to see the front panel explained and also get to hear the sounds. NOTE this vid is just over a half hour in time- and sadly the software that I used to compress the file for upload contains one or to artifacts or 'aliases' It may come up as unwanted noise during the oscillator demo."

Anatek Pocket Sequencer with Manual

via this auction

"ANATEK POCKET SEQUENCER w/256K RAM Card!
Gently used, unblemished, fully functional and ready to go. Posted here with a very optimistic BIN price, however this is a NO RESERVE auction. This 2.5" x 1.5" x1" marvel is powered by MIDI, so no worries about wall warts, batteries or flaky power supplies. Despite its spartan appearance, the POCKET SEQUENCER is packed with features, most of them accessed via your MIDI keyboard. Here's the list from Anatek's site (now iZ):

16 Track MIDI Sequencer
258k memory card included (?? The card is 256K ... maybe there's 2K built into the main box. I haven't tested this theory.)
Variable, quantize rates
Automatic punch-in
Syncs to MIDI Clock
Tape recorder-style control
Records System Exclusive
This auction includes the Sequencer, 256K RAM card, and printed one-page manual. No original box. The manual has some scotch-tape damage and is a bit worn (see pics), but is still perfectly readable."

"Moog Music Inc. is proud to present Dr. Joseph Akins' five part series on the fundamentals of synthesizer programming. Dr. Akins is an associate professor at Middle Tennessee State University and strives to teach his students a complete understanding of synthesizers and computers as tools for modern music production. In this five part series Dr. Akins uses a Voyager to teach the process through which a synthesizer's sound is generated and the techniques needed to program your own sounds and sonic experiments.
