ARP 2701 Pro Soloist with MIDI & Moog Filter

via this auction

"You might wonder why this is probably the most loved analog preset monosynth ever. I would venture it might well be due to its huge expression possibilities applied to the strikingly wonderful quality of its presets. It is interesting to know that its rich sound quality is in part due to its 4034 filter which is ARP's Moog ladder filter copy, before Moog's well-knowned law-suit and several bandpass filters. The Pro/DGX has the different sounding 4075 filter..."

Flower Electronics Little Boy Blue Deluxe

via this auction Close-up of the control sheet below. "The Flower Electronics Little Boy Blue Deluxe is a boutique synthesizer made by musician/sound artist Jessica Rylan. It was made in a limited edition, I purchased mine in 2006, and is no longer available from the manufacturer (i.e. pretty rare/collectable). Details are archived here - http://flowerelectronics.com/Deluxe.html Features: 2 voltage controlled oscillators, manual and voltage control of oscillator wave shapes, 1/4" input with variable gain, envelope follower with optional inverter, 2 channel mixer, intermodulating output stage, stylish oiled fir case LBB Deluxe runs on 2 9v batteries (supplied). Current drain is low, typically offering 50+ hours of battery life. The circuitry is hand-built with premium parts, using discrete transistors, no chips. Instruments are supplied with a set of banana cables for patching. Input and output are via standard 1/4" connectors. Output is a hot line level, for extra buzz. I have used this extensively for shows and recordings with the bands The Failed NASA Experiment, Black Stepdad, Lustfaust, Yajé, Evils, Fredrick Stanley Star and The (plexus) Collective. What that means is that whilst it has been well used it is really, really, really well built and has never failed. It is still in full working order and sounds as wicked as the day it was first bought. It has suffered a few scuffs and dents along the way and I have documented these in the pictures above to the best of my ability and these haven't affected the functionality at all. There are some sound samples on this page - http://flowerelectronics.com/Standard.html Here are some various videos to give you an idea of seeing it in action with other equipment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fET6naTUrfc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42SpcCP8a5w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LC0Gz4PYndU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJz1KMg8BDc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfakMBKEag8 So it's a noisy little bugger ideally suited for power electronics, ambient noise and experiment scunge etc. It's great for effecting vocals/guitars/keys/etc or as a standalone sound/chaos generator. This (long and heavy going) VHS improv I did for Bang the Bore utilises the LBB Deluxe quite extensively - http://vimeo.com/21620771" [embed below]

Vintage Moog Taurus Bass Synth

via this auction

"This particular unit has a simple but useful modification. The LEDs on the front panel are now color coded so that even if you are on stage or otherwise in a dark room and can't read the numbers, you'll always know which settings you have selected. You can see this in the photos. Pretty cool!...

This Moog Taurus has recently been serviced by The Synth Spa in Grafton, WI, and comes shipped in a custom flight case and closed in a static-free bag. The synth is working beautifully and sounds amazing. There is a chip from one of the pedals and light surface scratching that you would expect to see on a synthesizer of this age, but overall the cosmetic condition is very good..."

Benstruments, circuit bent Texas Instruments Speak & Read

via this auction

"Here we have a Benstruments, circuit bent Texas Instruments Speak & Read. Just like the Speak and Spell, exact same voice only the Speak and Math has better beat looping in my opinion. You also have a small vocabulary of words you can type in and the read will say the word typed. Works as a normal Speak & Read until you flip a glitch switch.

new controls:
Opto-Theremin Pitch Control with on/off switch

Pitch control knob that slows it to 8 bit sputtering and super fast high chattering.

Tone oscillator button that creates a tone you can then manipulate with the pitch controls like a theremin

1/4" output jack that shuts off the onboard speaker when you plug into an amp or pa system

Strobing blue LED for effect

Active matrix glitch switch that causes glitching with each push of the membrane

Loop switch with on/off and advance button for cool beat loops

Reset switch to get it back to normal

Glitch forever switch that sets the speak into constant gibbering of incoherent sentences Dual voice glitch switch that causes it to speak in both a high pitch and low pitch at the same time Ive added all the coolest mods you can find on these sweet robotic bent synthesizers. I guarantee all of my bentstruments for as long as you own, my work is solid and ive modified hundreds of toys and synths that are employed the world over by both famous and amateur musicians. Great piece to bring some creativity to your work."
