The tapes are from a wind ensemble recording that I performed on playing timpani in the percussion section and also an undisclosed 90s pop artist.

All sounds and effects from the Little Boy Blue, Jealous Heart, Tape and pedals recorded directly into Protools with minimal compression and EQ. As always, thanks for listening.

"I found a box of tapes I made of class lectures way back in the 90s when I was a philosophy student. They are from a History of Philosophy class that was taught by the late great Professor James Rachels. Rachels was a famous philosopher in his own right and for each meeting of this class, he lectured on a different key figure in the history of philosophy. This piece has excerpts from his lecture on the ideas of G.E. Moore. By coincidence, the talk relates to thoughts on necessary and contingent identity by way of analogy to the Morning Star. I recently posted another piece about about that same topic. As always, thanks for listening.

Rare Pair of Flower Electronics 100% analog, handmade, boutique, synths

via this auction

"These where designed and build by Jessica Rylan and are no longer in manufacture.
I am not a capitalist or a dealer, I just want these beauties to go to the right home.
I have loved using these and this is the second set I have owned, the first pair I stupidly sold, regretted it and tried to buy again, unfortunately they had stopped making them and it took me about a year and a half to track down another complete set.

The Little Boy Blue I bought from Allesandro Cortini (NIN), it has a few of the knob caps missing, 100% working, a few minor scratches to the paint underneath.

Jealous Heart I bought from a chap in Sweden, 100% working, a few little scratches underneath, the odd tiny paint chip.

These are designed to be used, last forever and built like a very well made thing. A lot of thought has gone into these, Rylan worked for Don Buchla and wanted to build something with as much sonic capability as a full blown modular, but could be slung in a bag for a gig.

Both units can process external audio from guitar, microphone, synth, drum machine or whatever else. They are sold as a pair (you will want both) and they work extremely well together, producing an extreme range of sound ideal for design, performance and sampling.

The price is fixed, I have them for sale elsewhere so the auction may end early and my price is very reasonable, the first set cost me loads more . Included is a set of 6 stackable pomona cables, I use a lot of banana gear and it is easy to make them up, you don’t need the expense of using pomona, you can get some really good stackable’s elsewhere you don’t have to solder.

Flower Electronics Little Boy Blue & Jealous Heart Modular Synthesizers

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
Little Boy Blue via this auction.

"Battery powered modular synthesizer that uses banana jack patch cords. Has a 1/4 input for Guitar, Bass, Microphone or other instruments. Infinitely deep as you create your own sounds by connecting patch cables, this synthesizer uses banana jacks which easily allow the signal to be "multed" e.g. you can send one jack to multiple different jacks by stacking the jacks upon one another. This particular LBB has been modified with a banana jack ground plug on the side, allowing for the ability to interfacing with other banana jack modular synthesizers. It also comes with a some banana jack cables to get you started. Best of all it's battery powered which allows you to take it anywhere, you can use it as a sound generator or use it like a guitar pedal, you can also play it by singing through it using a microphone and routing your voice to the envelope follower.

Features:
2 voltage controlled ramp (sawtooth) oscillators
1/4" input with variable gain
envelope follower with optional inverter
2 channel mixer
intermodulating output stage
powder-coated aluminum case
runs on single 9V battery [NOT INCLUDED]
power automatically disconnected when output cable is unplugged"
