"This synth is a rare, powerful and flexible beast. The synth engine is essentially a dual vco monophonic Jupiter 4: the second vco adds a great deal to the fullness and punch vs the single oscillator Jupiter 4...

Features of the ProMars include:

Two individual VCOs that can be detuned, plus a separate sub oscillator and a White noise generator.

A great twin VCF with HP and LP. The filter has its own ADSR envelope which can be inverted.

VCA section, with own ADSR envelope. Fast and punchy.

LFO section with multiple waveforms. Superfast for great FM/Ringmod style effects.

Modwheel can be assigned to VCO, VCF and VCA.

Keyboard transpose - up or down an octave.

Includes 10 preset sounds, much like the Jupiter 4. These can be tweaked using the separate brilliance filter control.

You also get 8 user memory slots that can be written to to save your favorite patches.

CV and Gate in and out gives you plenty of control options.


This particular ProMars is an early version, so has the 'old school' 70s BA VCA and VCF chips."

"The tap button sometimes misses but does better the more its used and the number 13 button is a little slower to respond but does fine.also included is an MSQ-100 sequencer that acts as a midi to Sync box and a sync to midi box. not to mention old school 16 trk midi sequencer with dip switches that will controller the types of midi data that it passes... very helpful to stop annoying unwanted program changes..."

"Hi :) This is a short patch demo video of Jupiter-8 in split mode with patch 34 in both the U and L section. Each patch is programmed with slightly different VCF and VCA Env settings.
Also I am playing the first minute of Rush's 'Subdivisions". It is not a full cover as I am playing just the first minute of "Subdivisions" to feature Jupiter's massive sound, in split mode.
In split mode, Jupiter-8 is divided into 2, 4-voice synth sections.
