Living Part 2 (Figure iOS)

YouTube Uploaded by ratface1987 on Apr 10, 2012

"I decided to do a series of live videos where I try to jam out and just put up whatever happens, but with the goal that the performance stays dynamic and interesting the entire time (as opposed to long jam videos where you watch someone pick drums sounds, make minor tweaks, and blah blah blah).

This installment of the Living series uses the iOS app Figure. It sounds good, but is limited to three instruments and two bars of music. It also lacks any sort of save or export feature, which is actually why I decided to buy it. I wanted to use it for making live, spontaneous music, that I wouldn't worry about recording, practicing over and over, perfecting, etc. Just music in the moment.

So I hope you enjoy. :) Like Living Part 1, I recommend just setting this on in the background while you do something, like you would a CD or MP3."

"The 200e makes drone and sequence (without a sequencer). I play 222e controlling 291e as a tripple oscillator bank. Some creepy sounds from C64 were played on iPad Lemur. All the stuff goes though my diy TimeSpace FX. Filmed by ::vtol::"

"Metalbox / CGS Burst Generator modified by Mike @ Metalbox to work in the Eurorack standard. Great for percussion.

...The module has a depth of 104mm so is not skiff friendly but fit in my Doepfer P6 case perfectly."

"This is a great 303 clone. It really uses the 303 as a starting point and expands to give a flexible characterful sound. Features including discrete divider and waveshaper allowing more musical sub basses according to the site. The overdrive circuitry allows level changes w/o affecting overall volume and the unit supports filter FM, a sub octave generator, VCA decay control, accented decay control, velocity CV and more..."
