Jordan Passmore - As Technology Grows / SP-12 Demo by Calvary
"A track named "As Technology Grows" showcasing my work done with the E-mu SP-12 Turbo Sampler/Drum Machine. The E-mu is the only piece of equipment heard here sans two Washburn Accelerator guitar pedals. I sampled a Juno 106 into the SP-12 prior to composition. The SP-12 was mixed using an Alto mixing board."

"For both the stabby chord sounds and the bass it's the Juno 106. A flanger is on the bass sound and a delay is on the stabs. All of the drum sounds are the E-mu Sp-12."

"Quick Vid/No Voiceover - MPC3K Master/DSI tempest Slave. Tempest Audio Hard Left. MPC3K Audio Hard Right. If you are listening through a mixer try setting pans to centre to hear the Flam/Phase. First play Sync-Shift MKIII is in bypass so it is like direct Midi Clock connection. Sounds respectable but the 8ms start lag is messing with the bass frequencies to my ears and the groove is a little rough. Second play - Sync-Shift MKIII set to 1 Bar Delay and then fine tune offset with the Rotary. Third Play - Change offset for slave syncopation. Fourth Play - different syncopation again. Regards - David"

"A brief collection of 3 improvised soundscapes and patches on CSGrain for iPad with my guitar and an Ebow. Don't expect superb playing skills as the guitar is not my main instrument. Also sorry for the ground noise and artifacts, this was recorded on the fly. The audio chain is: guitar to Lexicon Omega to iPad, then processed by csGrain and the audio output goes back to the Omega and this to Sonar on the PC thru the EMU 1820m.

I've included the camcorder mic sound on the last patch (from minute 5:03 to 6:30 ) because I loved the sound generated by the collision of strings with the ebow while vibrating and found it fitting pretty well with the soundscape. I hope you like it."
