The Uniton Swissecho 2000 Spring Reverb

via Swissdoc where you'll find additional details including some samples, the user manual, service manual & schematics.

"The Swissecho 2000 is a true stereo spring reverb with a bucket brigade delay (BBD) section to simulate the pre-delay and kind of early reflections missing in normal spring reverb systems. The BBD used is a TDA1022, actually 24 of them. They provide a delay time of 300 ms and by using a clock rate of 20.480 kHz a frequency response of about up to 10 kHz. The unit was sold with 12 TDA1022 as normal configuration, by adding some additional boards it could be extended.

The reverb tank uses 2 springs folded in a double Z configuration. The case is shielded by an anti-magnetic layer, most likely mu-metal. The tank as such looks pretty much like the tank used in the AKG BX15 reverb. I don't know if Uniton or AKG designed the tank, or who built them."

STG Soundlabs Mixer Warmth Demo

YouTube Published on Jun 16, 2012 by JohnLRice

"From STG Soundlabs site:
'The Mixer is a 5-input mixer with a transistor-based make-up gain stage and topology based on the model CP3 mixers from the modular electronic music systems built in Trumansburg NY by the RA Moog company. Its features are low noise, minimal slew, and massive asymmetric distortion on demand.'

The only reason for this video is to show folks who were asking a little of what the distortion looks and sounds like.

It's interesting to note the effect is most noticeable for sine and triangle waves, more subtle for saw-tooth waves and almost indistinguishable for square and pulse waves.

It's a very nice mixer! Get yours here:

Korg Monotron Delay Mods

"The Korg Monotron Delay is a whole lot of fun. This tiny synthesiser will take you from the sounds of 1950's sci-fi movies to rich analog music. Under the cover are circuits borrowed from the legendary Korg MS-10 and MS-20 music synthesisers. You can tap into and extend this synth easily with a basic knowledge of electronics. I have tried to make these pages easy to understand and hopefully inspire you to mod your own Monotron."

MacBeth Touch Keyboard

via Ken MacBeth on The MATRIXSYNTH Lounge

"Here's a picture of a project that I've been working on over the weekend- it's an analogue 'wires free' 'no stylus' touch keyboard! It's three and a half octaves long and works fantastically! By attaching any meta object to ones finger- the notes are actuated- in this case I bought a roll or fine wire mesh- slips on the finger easy and allows for playing of other keyboards when not using the touch keys!"
