"Very powerful synth... 2 Oscillators with 48 waves each and a Sub Osc going through a Korg VCF/VCA. The same as the DW8000 uses.
Built by the designer so very solid."

Yamaha FM not FM? CASIO CZ-1 Phase Distortion Synthesizer

Phase Distortion synthesis was Casio's implementation of Yamaha's FM synthesis. Or was it?
Here's something interesting I found looking up Phase Distortion synthesis on Wikipedia (anyone confirm|deny this?):
"Phase distortion synthesis is a synthesis method introduced in 1984 by Casio in its CZ range of synthesizers, and similar to phase modulation synthesis in the sense that both methods dynamically change the harmonic content of a carrier waveform by application of another waveform (modulator) in the time domain. Casio introduced the term 'phase distortion'.
Yamaha had previously produced the first Phase Modulation synthesizers in their DX series of synthesizers: Yamaha mistakenly promoted their machines as FM when in fact used phase modulation. Both methods produce composite waveforms whose harmonics are the sum and difference of the carrier and modulator waveforms"
Click the pics for the larger shots. I never noticed the display was recessed before. Also never noticed the grid stripes on the side panels. Finally, lots of zeros in that serial number, SN B00000980.

"VERMONA-DDR made in the 80's.The machine is very rare, only a few hundred have been made out of this model. It's in fully working condition, the physical outlook is great as well, some scratches here and there due to its vintage status, nothing major though, nor ugly. Its phones output seems not to have any signal coming out of,but the main output and everything else works fine-keys,mod.-pitch wheels, knobs etc.
Specifications
Polyphony - Monophonic
Oscillators - 2 VCO's with Pulse, Ramp, Square and Noise waveforms
LFO - 1 LFO section with Speed, VCF-Modulation, and Delay
Filter - Analog 24 dB/oct with Brilliance, CutOff, Resonance, Contour
VCA - Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release
Keyboard - 44 keys"

Multivox M75 Preset Vintage Analog Synth

it's a nice little synth with a good vintage analog sound - it works well, although the aftertouch is not great, it works, but you have to work hard here. otherwise, all functions go. the synth look spretty nice for its age, but i noticed some corrosion on the left hand side, please check the pictures carefully. nothing serious i think, but still... limited tweaking, but still.... plenty to be taken out of this box."

Randgrid Synthesizer and Drum Machine

"Wait... I have to check something... Ok, cool, I can start this review. So, RandGrid is a Drum Machine, a powerful Drum Machine which comes with some really great ideas. First, you will have to select a kit from the 5 available. A kit contains 16 sounds... Then you will create a Part. A Part is a sixteen step Pattern. You will be able to program its 16 tracks (2 are dedicated to a Synthesizer, the 14 others for the drum's instrument. Note that a randomize button allows you to create a track, just with a single tap (this feature is not a gadget. It works very well for each selected track). You will be able to shape the sound of an entire track or a single event ( Stereo Delay, Distortion, 2 dual oscillators...). The Song mode is really great too, despite that it needs some improvements (check out my note on the last image of this post). You will be able to create a 256 bar song max. A Song comes with 4 tracks. It means that you will be able to create a 64 track Song (4 patterns / bar, a pattern is equal to 16 tracks). To conclude this review, I have to tell you why I asked you to wait 2 minutes ago... I wanted to check the version of RandGrid as well as its release date... So, the version is the 1.2. We can say that RanGrid is a little baby... The last update was December 12th 2012. We can say that its parents didn't give up on it. If I wanted to have this information, it is because I have to conclude this review and to rate this App... So my conclusion: I really love RandGrid, the App is really well done, steady and comes with a lot of great ideas. RandGrid is powerful (almost like an Automation when using the Step edit feature, 16 tracks / Pattern, 64 tracks / Song, a really great random button....) but it lacks at least a sharing feature! Yes, unfortunately, you will not be able to share your project... A great pity! I really like to have the ability to import my own samples (only 5 kits for the 64 available tracks / Song). A pity! The song mode is really great but could be even better... I will rate this App as a Super App, to motivate the developer to keep working on it and I really hope to rate it as a Killer App really soon. (Note that it is not usual that I rate a Drum Machine without sharing feature as a Super App...)"
