The Magnetic Cello: Two Demos and an Explanation

After four years of development, the instrument is finally finished and something I'd be proud to sell. There are currently only three full version Magnetic Cellos, and a few lucky musicians will be able to buy the instruments soon.

"The instrument is, of course, still experimental, and there are around 5 or 6 thousand little things I would change in how I built these instruments. But it is no longer a 'prototype'. I’m finally confident that this is an instrument an adventurous musician could pick up and play. And I’m confident that he could play both old classical pieces (in a somewhat different way) and wacky new sounds not possible on other instruments..."

Sanyo DP 10 Synthesizer Card Player Review

"The Sanyo DP 10 is a card player synthesizer from the early 80s. Yamaha released a series of keyboards around the same time and Sanyo appears to have taken that technology into their unit. Like the Yamaha keyboards they accept cards that have a magnetic strip the reader recognises and plays a pre-programmed song. The cards features songs such as Dancing Queen, Londonderry Air, etc and a head cleaning card. The DP 10 can also mix signals into the unit via the 2 mic inputs and an auxiliary input to play along with another instrument or sing through a mic. You can also adjust the tone or change the tempo of he song. There is also a rhythm section for 10 different styles of music, such as march and disco, jazz and bossa nova."

I wonder if this is the one that was posted here. Never saw one before then. These two are the only Sanyo posts on the site.  I'm curious if they ever made another synth/electronic instrument.

"NINE INCH NAILS owned Novation Bass Station Synthesizer.

I won this in the NINE INCH NAILS gear auctions in December 2009. It came in full working condition but with no power supply. I tracked down the original power supply from Novation and will include it.

There are six presets which I have not changed, so they are as they were from the auction (and presumably Trent when he last used it).

This synth was used during the making of the 1999 album The Fragile and is featured in pictures of Trent Reznor recording in the studio that was part of the Fragility Tour Program. Also, an interview in Keyboard Magazine"
