"Paper circuit & modular synth

Hello ! My name is Frederic Gerchambeau. I have made this movie and this music. The music has been made using a parper circuit and a Doepfer analog modular system.

The paper circuit has two outputs. One leads to the cutoff frequency of a lowpass filter and the other leads to the pitch CV control of an oscillator. So, with a wire coming from a Doepfer A-183-2 offset, i can control both parameters depending where the wire is on the paper circuit. Enjoy !"

"There were only 650 of these made for a very short time beginning in 1979. This one is #609. Controls include Off/On/Volume and Key knobs and three touch pads titled Slider, Tone andHalf Step. It is powered by a 9 volt battery and has its own built in speaker. It also has a jack. The body is beautifully hand-carved wood and shows very little wear for its age. The face and rear plates appear to be brass. The soundhole area of the face plate is a bit bent in but it should be very easy to straighten it. The foam under the plate is showing a minor amount of cracking due to age. The Key knob has a thin crack at the tightening screw but it is solid and functional. There are two minor, superficial scratches on the fingerboard. Overall, this is a beautiful instrument. It works. It comes with its original case. In the case, you will also find the original warranty card, complete with stamp, and the small Sonica brochure showing the major scale, info about the Sonica and music for a song to play. Sonicas are very rare and are seldom seen on the market. Don’t miss your chance to own this wonderful and beautiful instrument!"

The listing states this was a "Playback Sample Player".  Anyone know how deep you could edit these? Was it literally just a sample playback machine or was it a sampler synth with deeper editing like the other Akais of the time? This is only one of two posts featuring the S1000PB. The first one went up here with little info as well.

Update via daden in the comments: "It's exactly the same as a s1000, except it has no sampling inputs and no analog to digital converters."

"Originally from the South Florida Recording Studio Middle Ear, this and many more pieces of gear being sold here on Ebay, has been in AC storage, and now up for grabs by me, Protoolshd3-88. This was actually owned and used on recordings by Barry Gibb. I can not tell you what was used for any particular track or session, just that they were used at one time or another for various tracks, writing, ideas, etc. Grab a piece of history and bid away!.."
