Soniccouture Releases Vibraphone Virtual Instrument

"Sampled instrument designers have always struggled with the Vibraphone – the ‘snapshot’ nature of sampling doesn’t really suit it at all; if you sample the single notes, then each notes tremolo will be out of time with the next, and of course the speed will be fixed at one rate anyway. Sometimes people go ahead and sample it anyway, and offer it out of sync with a choice of rates ( fast, medium, slow), but that tends to sound pretty wrong. The more common ‘workstation’ approach was always to simply switch the motor to off on the Vibraphone, record it static, then fake the tremolo in the synth/sampler using an LFO with a bit of filter and amplitude modulation. Which, in the context of workstation sounds, doesn’t do too bad a job, in that ‘Mock-Tudor’ style that workstation sounds have.
But about a year or 18 months ago, Dan hit on an idea – whether in the bath, I know not – and like many breakthrough ideas, it was beautiful in its simplicity..."

MOTM-700 Dual 2:1 Voltage-Controller Router 5U module
Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction
This one is from John L Rice.
"The MOTM-700 is a dual bi-directional SPDT switch that is switched/toggled when an input control voltage exceeds a trip-point set by a panel knob. Special circuitry handles routing of audio (cross-fading VCAs) or control voltage (fast, low-offset switches).
This is an awesome switch for your modular synthesizer! I love switchers and at one point I realized I had 6 different ones so I ended up moving half of them out of my system to make room for other types of modules. I wish I could hang onto this and the other modules I'm selling but, I need to pay bills.
This was constructed from the original high quality Synth Tech parts and currently this module doesn't appear to be available assembled or in kit form from any one.
This module requires a clean +-15 VDC power supply and a case to mount it in, neither are supplied. A power cable and mounting screws are supplied though..."

MOTM-485 GX-1 VCF Filter for 5U Modular Synthesizer
Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction
This one is from John L Rice.
"This is a great filter in excellent shape! It's not your typical filter though so if you are looking to create "phat Moog bass lines", this probably isn't what you want. ;-) But if you want to create a variety of sounds from beautiful mellow lead lines to crazy chaotic sound effects, this can do it!
This is constructed from the original high quality Synth Tech parts and no longer available directly from Synth Tech. Please note that this module requires a clean power supply of +-15 DC and some sort of case to mount it in, neither of which are included. A power cable and mounting screws are supplied though."
Here are two videos I made over the years that feature the MOTM-485:

Oakley MultiMix 'Stooge' mixer for 5U modular
Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction
This one is from John L Rice.
"This is a great mixer in excellent shape! I built this one myself and modified it by adding toggle switches to mute the individual outputs. This is the issue/version #4 PCB, has a BrideChamber front panel and was built up as the most popular 'Stooge' version which uses three reversible attenuators for the inputs and three output jacks so this module can be used as a 3 to 1 mixer, a 2 to 1 mixer + a single attenuator or three single attenuators. Very versatile!
Note that the first three pictures are from 2009 when I had just finished building the module. It is still in almost as good of shape but some of the black is worn off around the mounting holes, which can't be seen when the module is mounted in a modular case, and the top knob has a slight scratch in it. I'll try to post a recent picture soon.
This module requires a clean +-15 VDC power supply and a case to mount it in, neither are supplied. A power cable and mounting screws are supplied though."

Folktek Euphonos Field
via Folktek
"The housing is made of oak and each panel is meticulously done in the style of the Impossible Box - labeled and framed is brass. The keys, lamps and switches for each panel are hand built and the provided cables are all cloth covered. The Sound Field 2 features touch based synthesis, synth trigger section, thick reverberation, filteration, delay and looping and two sequencers. All patching can be done on board with included patch cables and all modules have 1/4" ins and outs to send to/from external gear. The sound patching can be arranged however the player likes. ie; synthesis > reverb >delay/loop >filter. Each panel has Control Voltage to be accepted from the sequencers or from any external CV covering the synth pitch, synth triggering, filter frequency, on/off of reverb or delay, delay time and loop capture. Loops can be captured in time with the sequencers (which can be synchronized to eachother optionally or synched to external clocks) and both the delay and reverb decay when turned off..."
