Intellijel Metropolis

Published on Nov 5, 2013 Oliver Chesler·96 videos

"I was really happy to be able to get one of the first Intellijel Metropolis sequencers. I set up last night and got it working in my own way. In the video you can see I have it synced to Ableton Live and my Roland TR-707. The sound source is a Wiard Oscillator running through a Analogue Solutions aka Medic Modules Defibrillator which is a filter but also adds some wicked heft to any source. By changing the Pulse Count on the Metropolis you can get some amazing creative patterns. Changing the Gate Mode then emphasizes notes even further by holding the Pulse Count either in a solid unbreaking sound or repeating pulse. You can see my mess with those parameters in the video too. Finally I control the entire sequence pitch using a Flame Tame Machine Quantizer's CV out. There are many other features this thing has I didn't touch here including clock division, internal quantization, shuffle, stage skipping, presets and more. The Metropolis a really nice. It's a true Moroder/EBM machine."

the cracklebox and a noisy setup

Published on Nov 5, 2013 pianoloft·221 videos

"the first crackle box was used in the 60th of the last century. fingercontacts influence and create unstable sounds. info: http://steim.org/product/cracklebox/
the MASF SCM and two effects generate some destructive soundfields, the MASF pedal consits of an enclosure with a contact mic in it, There is a small hole under the mounted spring so the box acts as an acoustic resonator (http://masf.figity.com/pedals/scm). the sound is run through the Dod Fx 69B and the subdecay noise box. joyful noise !"

This is the first MASF post.

"The Critter & Guitari Bolsa Bass a bass machine. It features a sequencer, full MIDI capabilities, and these six modes:

Circle Ramp
Sawtooth Ramp
Analog Style
Filter Envelope
FM Pad
Bass Delay
The built-in sequencer lets you quickly create bass lines with the touch of a button. You can even record and playback knob adjustments for things like filter sweeps and changes in delay time or tuning! With MIDI IN and OUT jacks you can synchronize your sequences with other devices. The Bolsa Bass also sends and receives note messages so you can use it as a sound module or simple controller.

The six synthesizer modes provide elemental monophonic bass sounds, great for all kinds of musical scenarios. From classic filter sweeps to simple and pure tones, lush FM, and even a stretchy tuned delay which makes great string like drones. The entire keyboard may be tuned over a 1-octave range by turning the knob second from right. Volume is controlled by the right-most knob. The function of the remaining two left knobs depend on what mode is selected.
