"Demo of the Synthrotek EKO, a CVable echo effect. Please note that this is a prototype module, and the feedback and mix knobs are backwards. They are corrected on the final release.

The basics of the patch:

Audio source is from the Livewire Electronics Audio Frequency Generator's Animated Pulses and Pulse Out sections -into- 2 inputs on Intellijel's uVCA (cv modulated by 2 Circuit Abbey ADSRjrs) -into- 2 Synthrotek EKOs (rate cv modulated by Livewire Electronics Chaos Computer) -into- 2 inputs panned Left & Right on the Circuit Abbey Unify.

You're hearing 1 EKO module in each ear, played with one note only so that you can hear the intensity of the rate cv being modulated by the Chaos Computer. From spacey echos, bell tones, to rhythmic percussive pulses, this module makes some seriously intense sounds."

"Joe Mansfield's 200-page Beat Box: A Drum Machine Obsession coffee-table book features 75 drum machines from the author's personal collection, with more than 200 photos by Award Winning photographer Gary Land and Foreword by Dave Tompkins.

It all started with one machine. The location was Boston, Mass. The year was 1986. The 'beat box' in question was the TR-808. Almost three decades later, Mansfield's obsession with drum machines has finally spilled out of his home and climate-controlled storage space into the world at large. With Beat Box: A Drum Machine Obsession (Get On Down Publishing), the Boston-based hip-hop producer and music industry veteran - who helped bring the world Edo G's 'I Got To Have It' and 'Be A Father To Your Child' in the early '90s, and went on to found Traffic Entertainment Group and co-found Get On Down - shares his deep love and respect for "Beat Boxes" on every page."

"Like many JX10 owners without a PG800 programmer I was disappointed to find that Roland had made a complete arse of the midi implementation - there is no way to edit sounds via midi.
So I got hold of the service manual and the datasheet for the 6303 processor used in the assigner board, and set about dis-assembling the firmware, in the hope of finding the 'bug' that stopped SysEx sound edits working."

via the listing: "The synth has had a DB-15 connector and an on/off switch added by a former owner. I do not know what these do and have not noticed any impact to the function of the synth. My guess is that these tapped into the keyboard matrix so that you could play the synth from an accordion or other similarly equipped instrument. But I didn't perform this mod. You just need to know the mods are there..."
