Circuit Abbey - Tube Ringmod // sounds

video upload by NOISEBUG

"The Circuit abbey Tube ringed is about as gentle as a firecracker. Pretty much anything you patch into it will be transformed into pure vacuum tube goodness. Here are a few patches using various ring-mod techniques, heavily utilizing the onboard feedback/negative feedback per Carrier and Signal ports.

Self Playing Eurorack Pipe Organ Patch

video upload by John L Rice

"A relatively simple and mostly self playing eurorack patch that sounds somewhat like a church pipe organ performance? A single Synth Tech Circuit Bent VCO "played" by the Vermona meloDICER pattern generator sequencer with the Strymon Megneto delay in the Pitch Shift setting giving it size and magic as I manually adjust the Wet and Repeats knobs. Additional modules used: Erica Synths Octasource LFO, Happy Nerding MMM VCF, Klavis Quadigy EG, Xaoc Devices Praga VCA/mixer, Circuit Abbey Unify mixer, ADDAC ADDAC812A meter.

Circuit Abbey Introduces Pure Tube Core Ringmod Eurorack Module

video upload by Circuit Abbey

"This video highlights the design, appearance, and performance of the NEW Circuit Abbey Pure Tube Core Ringmod Eurorack module. Available December 2023. Visit us at www.circuitabbey.com for more details."

Circuit Abbey tube installation.

video upload by

"Quick tutorial on how to install a vacuum tube on our Pure Vacuum Tube Ringmod."

via Circuit Abbey

Introducing the first fully controllable “PURE VACUUM TUBE CORE” Tube Ringmod Module.

This unique Pure Tube Core Vacuum Tube Ringmod incorporates a pair of dual diode vacuum tubes in place of the solid state diodes normally found in ringmod effect units. This gives our ringmod a tonal quality few have ever heard.

Greatly exaggerated tonal variety is made possible with complete control over:

SIGNAL input and feedback

CARRIER input and feedback

SIGNAL & CARRIER mix and WET(effect)/DRY mix.

Feedback control pots are attenuverted. Center is neutral, counter clockwise is negative, clockwise is positive.

Tonnetz Sequent as a Modulation Source

Published on Oct 27, 2015 noisythang

"I am old. My hand shakes, my vision blurs. Sorry.
What is this Tonnetz? It generates triads rotating through a triadic space.
But are these not just voltages? Can’t we use these voltage patterns in ways other than pitch? Voltages that rotate? Let’s try a little rotation.
Maybe a little spreading. Is there a repeating pattern? In the end we use one for pitch.
Tonnetz Sequent clocked by Circuit Abby G8
4ms rotating filter kicked by a couple of triggers.
Tonnetz controlling rotation, spread and frequency."

Introducing ... Vacvac!

Published on Apr 10, 2015 Brother Theo [of Circuit Abbey]

"Vacvac is a dual Vactrol based VCA for Eurorack.

The Vacvac uses 2 vactrols per channel to get 80+ dB of attenuation. The Vactrols are trimmed to ensure channel and gain matching, so no channel to channel variation or unit to unit differences. The CV drive circuit is jumper selectable 5 or 10 volts, and the modules unity gain at the max voltage. Also our drive is biased so EGs that have an offset will not open the VCA when they are supposed to be closed.

This is a very musical VCA. It sounds great, and makes really nice drum sounds. Also its soft on/off characteristics means it make a great mute. Use it to switch between 2 different sounds.

This 4HP module has a maximum 60mA current draw. Module depth is 49mm."
