Velocité - full album (Mike Oldfield meets Air & Tame Impala)
video upload by Caught In Joy
"Inspired by the fluid energy of Tangerine Dream, the layered elegance of Mike Oldfield, and the dreamlike pulse of Air and Tame Impala, this album explores the strange intersections of speed and stillness.
Velocité is a deep, cinematic dive into motion, memory, and momentum—an hour-long journey shaped by analog synths, ambient textures, and hypnotic rhythms.
Created live and mixed with obsessive attention to detail, Velocité captures that fleeting feeling of being in transit—somewhere between the past and the future. Best experienced in one uninterrupted listen.
Composed, mixed and mastered by Caught In Joy. Karol Pokojowczyk uses Bitwig, Moog One, Moog Matriarch, Prophet-10, 3x Moog Mavis, TipTop Buchla modules, Make Noise Strega, Strymon Magneto, Arturia V-Collection and an army of guitar pedals. Performed and recorded live on tape with TEAC 80-8.
Timeline:
00:00:00 - 1. Velocité
00:10:16 - 2. Clockwork Pastoral
00:17:11 - 3. Microfilm Memory
00:26:36 - 4. Carbon Copies of You

Switchback Descent
video upload by davidryle
"The great Vector Sequencer from Five12. I am using it for a pair of simple 16 step sequences to the 5U modular by way of CV and Gate.
The clock is derived from the Moon Modular 553 Midi to Clock module. I used the 1/96th division and a start gate to tap the sync24 feature in the Vector. I do have an STG bus but the sync bus cable wouldn't reach out of the cabinet to the Vector. The other clock pulses are from the STG Time Divider.
The first patch is run to a pair of Q206 VCO's and the Q150 filter and then on to the Echo Fix tape delay. Stereo panning was from the Q158 VCA++ and a Mega Ohm LFO. The Ian Fritz Hypster by Synthetic Sound Labs is a modulation source for the decay stage of the STG Envelop Generator.
The bass line patch is a pair of STG Oscillators to a pair of Mega Ohm MA20's in low and high pass series. The SSL Tube VCA is used to add some drive. The Frequency Central Stasis Leak stereo chorus finishes the patch chain.
The third patch is a drone pad line from the Dove D900 sequencer to the WTF Oscillator and the Oakley SVF in Notch mode. The slow center frequency modulation from a second Mega Ohm LFO does a nice job of combing through the upper mids of the complex waveforms out of the WTF. The last part of the patch is through the Empress Reverb in green ghost mode.
The Vector is the first edition mk1 but still has quite the feature set. I was using a modulation lane for transpose to the pair of pitch sequences. This same transpose sequence was replicated on the Q960 with a second Q960 as a divider. The pitch voltages for the WTF were combined in the unity mixer of the STG Active Multiples module. I did use the Q171 Quantixer Bank for precision stepping from the Q960.
All sounds captured at once in a single take to Cubase 12. Video edited in Final Cut Pro.
Special thanks to Ron Sunsinger for the loan of the Vector and Adam Fritsche for the Stasis Leak module."

Vector Firmware 3.0.12 - NEW FEATURES - Link Transpose and Project Templates
video upload by Steve Turner
Update: follow-up video here.
"Link Transpose enables the user to shift multiple parts in unison with a single command. Super useful.
Project Templates are something many of us have yearned for since before black and white television was invented. And here it is!
I demo both in the video. Oh wow there is a cat hair and various studio dust on my Vector. Black i SO UNFORGIVING under lights."

"Discover Peak: https://novationmusic.com/products/peak
In Novation Connects episode three, we connect our epic eight-voice polyphonic synthesiser, Peak, to the Five12 Vector Sequencer. Here we perform and create a densely-layered, sequenced, evolving single patch on the Peak using the Vector Sequencer by Five12. Pushing the limits of what you can create in one patch.
Chapters:
0:00 - Creating a patched sequence on the Novation Peak with Five12 Vector Sequencer
0:13 - Transposing sequences from the Vector Sequencer to the Peak
0:48 - Sending tracks, or parts, to the Peak via the Vector Sequencer

Intellijel Cascadia: patching Ring Mod into FX loop with Chroma Console
video uploads by The Synth Shed
Playlist:
1. Intellijel Cascadia sound demo with Vector Five12 sequencer (no talking)
Sound demo showing how to set up a basic patch and modulations (based on some of the start-up examples in the manual) - with CV pitch/gate controlled through the amazing Five12 Vector Sequencer to give us a driving techno line with lots of dirt.2. Intellijel Cascadia: patching Ring Mod into FX loop with Chroma Console
side-note: I don't know if I was hallucinating after too much coffee, but by the end I thought the melody had morphed into the Star Wars Imperial March. WELCOME TO THE DARK SIDE!
Fourth part of my initial Cascadia explorations, again using the Chroma on fx duties, but this time with the added textures created by patching the Cascadia's Ring Modulator into the FX loop. Tasty sounds!3. Intellijel Cascadia x Chroma Console = 'Add N to (X)'
Building on the patch and sequence created for my first Cascadia sound demo, we take things further with the addition of the inspiring multi-fx unit Chroma Console from Hologram Electronics. The perfect pairing for creating experimental sounds - and if you slow the tempo you're in instant 'Add N to (X)' chunky synth groove territory. Once again driven by the Five12 Vector Sequencer.4. Intellijel Cascadia x Chroma Console PART 2: Filthy fuzz bass!
Had so much fun experimenting with this killer combo in the first video, that I ended up recording another video just to show how dang low down and dirty the Cascadia can go with a little help from its friends (in this case, FX from the Chroma and sequencing via the Five12 Vector)

SUPERBOOTH 2024: Five 12 Vector Sequencer MK2
video upload by sonicstate
"Jim from Five12 showcased the Mark II versions of the Vector sequencer and Expander . According to Jim, the hardware revision includes faster, newer chips while maintaining the essence of the original sequencer. The panel design remains almost identical, with the Expander now condensed to 8 HP from 12. The software sees updates to accommodate the new hardware and additional I.O. features, with continued support for Mark I devices. Notably, the new Expander is compatible with older sequencers, and vice versa.
The Vector Sequencer 2 has an intuitive digital sequencer interface with analog-style controls, offering versatile MIDI and CV I.O. for extensive customization.
Notable software enhancements include doubled preset space, expanded parameter options, and innovative chance operations to create dynamic, evolving sequences. The Vector Sequencer 2 is set to release in June, *priced at $759 US*, while the Expander will be available for $289 US.

Slowly Learning The Five12 Vector Sequencer
video upload by John L Rice
"Just some baby steps as I learn to use the Vector Sequencer and integrate it into this system. The Vector Sequencer is just playing two chords and sending them via MIDI to the genXnoise dXeus machina (8 DX7’s in an 8 hp module!) and the MIDI thru goes to the Mutable Instruments Yarns which I’m selectively using to play four SynthTech based voices ."

Five12 QV-L Quad Variable LFO
video upload by Steve Turner
"Vector Sequencer, QV-L, nRings, Weston Precision Audio SF1, 4MS DLD
So really I am testing the ATEM MINI PRO and headset mic here. I think I got it close but when I started dialing the grit in using the LEVEL on the SF1 you can really hear it pushing (which is a good thing, but less good for video levels). This is fun."
