Sequential Circuits Drumtraks - MIDI Drum Machine (1984)

Pics of the inside below.
"The Sequential Circuits Drumtraks was the first drum machine that supported MIDI. (The Drumtraks can also send DIN sync and clock.) And while the drum pads were not velocity-sensitive, you can control it via a MIDI keyboard and trigger it with different velocities. While the kick sound is a bit thin, the 13 8-bit sounds can be pitch-shifted dramatically, adding some flexibility.

Two Patchblock Microsynth

"Hello, this is the pretty amazing Patchblock synthesizer. It's a micro synth that you make modular style patches on your computer and load them to the unit. They can do lots of things like full polyphonic synthesizers, mono synths, or be used as effects units that include filters, bit crushers, delays, and several other things. Really neat new concept. The other thing is they can be connected and to create really complex modular setups.
Check out the website, it's patchblocks.com
Really cool units. I bought four of them to use as effects, extra voices, and filters for my OP-1. Would work great with volca's, OP-1's, and even the MS-20.
I have two colors for sale, one magenta and one white, these also have the blue LED's. Currently for sale as a pair. I realized I am just to busy with other projects to really explore the potential these guys have.
The software is free and in the beta stage, you can download it from the website and start making patches and the emulator will play your results.
Each block gas two knobs, two buttons, stereo audio in, stereo audio out, USB, and the four patchable connections between units. So they can be stereo audio and two digital controls. Really fun addition."

JEN SX-1000 Synthetone SN 06519 with Mods Demo

"I followed mods from various sites on the net. especially Neil Johnson's page. (where he proves that it has a 24db filter NOT a 12db as everywhere else states)
I've also documented the installation of the mods on my blog page if you wish to have a read.
The mods completed are:
1. Better quality filter capacitors and for richer VCF sound.
2. Increased LFO speed to almost audible range, much faster than stock
3. Added circuit for Sawtooth up & down waveshapes to LFO as well as standard triangle. (small 3 position switch on fascia) - this affects the VCF LFO and also Vibrato for extra modulation possibilities
4. -1 Oscillator Square wave Sub Oscillator circuit (Noise off switch position engages circuit - noise level controls amount)
5. Equalize and boost White & Pink noise circuit
6. External Audio In (into VCF&VCA section via the Noise off switch postition)
7. Removed trailing power lead and fitted IEC power socket where old power switch was (standard 'kettle' cable) see pics
8. Fitted new power switch where old power cable was located. (see pics)
I have a demo on my Soundcloud account, it's a long one so if the basic waveforms and modulation bores you head for the meaty bottom end stuff to around the 10 minute mark onwards, It does sound even better 'in the flesh', especially the Pulse Width Modulation.
It's just showing a little bit of the modulation possibilities that you can't get from a standard SX1000.
I started with showing basic waveforms with Noise, then Sawtooth, Square, Pulse Width etc and finally the Resonance on it's own without the oscillator and modulated each with Cutoff/Res, LFO speed & shape, VCA LFO & Env Level and added the Sub Osc at various points.
It's not a 'playing' demo, just wibbly wibbly noises showing some of the possibilities, I didn't really use the VCA much on this, or the glide & vibrato but it should give you some idea of what it's capable of. No effects have been used"
