"Here's a quite obscure and rare British-made MIDI to CV converter - I have had this working and it seemed to track over a small range but I didn't spend much time experimenting with the scale/tuning trims. Due to the condition (it's metal construction but the body is quite worn and a few bits are a little warped) and having not explored it hugely, it's got to be sold as seen.

Features:
MIDI IN Port
MIDI Thru Port
MIDI Channel Select Trimmer
3.5mm "GND Trig" Output
3.5mm "+VE Trig" Output
3.5mm Control Voltage Output
Tune Trimmer
Scale Trimmer
Doesn't include PSU - it requires 12V DC Negative Tip, Positive Ring"

Sequential Prophet 5 rev2

via this auction

"There are 3 distinct Prophet 5's, the rev 1, rev 2 and rev 3. To be honest I have never seen (or even met someone who has seen) a rev 1....so if you want a Prophet the choice is pretty much between the rev2 and rev3. The major difference between the rev2 and the rev3 is that the rev2 uses SSM chips and a lot more discrete components and the rev3 uses Curtis chips. The rev2 is the the better sounding of the two with a more organic sound, though back in the day the rev3 was much more reliable....so bands tended to use rev2's for recording and rev3's for touring.

The rev2 reliability issues were primarily down to tuning, this was down to a transformer that got very hot (have a look at the size of the heatsink!)...i.e. thermal drift and the fact that the voltage control DACs for the oscillators were made with discrete resistors. Nothing actually wrong with building DACs with discrete resistors except that you need to use very precise and matched resistors....which weren't readily available in the 80's. These days ridiculously precise "ppm" (part per million) resistors are available for not too scary money. So the internals circuitry has been changed to incorporate the better resistors (and a few other more modern components) and a modern over-rated toroidal transformer to ensure that the tuning and reliability is as good, probably better than any rev3.

The rev2 is very rare, with only 200 having ever been made and is an incredibly beautiful sounding machine. This version is in very good condition, apart from a dint or two on the woodwork and pretty bad silk screening on the mod panel. I am at the moment considering building a totally new hardwood cabinet, re-screening the mod panel and fitting Kenton MIDI...this will however add well over £1000 to the price so I thought I'd put it up for sale as is....as I'm a bit buzy at the moment and someone could grab a bargain.

Published on Aug 10, 2014 Toz Bourne

"The new symphonic music creation app for iPad, here's a demo of all 10 of the included sounds.EDIT--see my blog at wtomusic.com for a written walk through of the app...no followup video will be posted."

iTunes: iSymphonic Orchestra - Christian Schoenebeck d/b/a Crudebyte

"The ultimate orchestra sound app for sophisticated musicians, directed by Kurt Ader, designed as professional sound module for your iPad by connecting an external MIDI keyboard, using the Apple USB camera adapter or another adapter supported by Apple.¹

This app supports Apple's "Inter-App Audio" System (requires iOS 7 or higher) and the "JACK Audio Connection Kit" (up to iOS 6.1.3) for audio & MIDI connections from/to other audio apps!

iSymphonic Orchestra was designed with the goal to deliver you superb, extremely realistic and stunning orchestra sounds, instantly with the first key being pressed by you on your MIDI keyboard. Just select a sound and you are ready for your live performance or for a boost of creativity while composing new songs. The sounds used in this app were explicitly recorded to fulfill these requirements and involved several months of recording and post processing under supervision of Kurt Ader and included a variety of innovative, new recording techniques. So far these sounds were only available to very few, famous movie composers. Now they are finally available for the first time to everybody. The supreme quality of these sounds, combined with the unique way they were recorded and assembled, gives us confidence that you haven't heard anything comparable as of to date, even not on Mac or PC.
