"Basically it's a combination string synth, poly synth and mono synth. When you blend all three it sounds pretty huge!

Mono presets include: Tube, Trombone, Trumpet, Sax, Clarinet, Oboe, Flute, Piccolo, Violin, Accordion, El. Bass, El. Guitar and "Free". The filter can be controlled by the LFO and/or the ADSR. There's portamento control for the mono sounds. The LFO can also control pitch or the VCA for tremelo effects.

Poly presets: Piano, Harpsichord, Honkye Tonk, Brass. There's a filter for the poly section that controls brightness.

Strings: 8' and 4', with Brilliance, Sustain and Attack controls.

Cosmetically there are a few gashes where the music stand used to go (see pictures)."

"Firstly, Yes! It Works! The E-MU EMULATOR EIII is an amazingly powerful piece of vintage gear and recording history. So much so, it cost nearly $20,000 for this full blown model! A masterpiece for E-MU, this full featured Sampler, Synth and Sequencer has high end fat Curtis Analog Filters and Sony top Converters, that make these hard to find units, one of the best sounding machines ever made! Manufactured in extremely limited quantities, the E-MU EIII is a true vintage beast to own!

This vintage power station has been upgraded/enhanced.
Full blown 8MB Model. Latest OS 2.42. Firmware v1.00
Boots (FDD), Samples, Synthesis, Sequences, Saves and Sample MIDI Dumps, SMTPE. etc.
HDD replaced and upgraded with a NEW AztecMonster CF Converter w/ 128MB CF (Compact Flash) Card (See Pics) CF Removable not Hot Swappable. Power down to swap. Read and Write only. (up to 1GB Cards can be used)
Sony/Emu FDD installed with w/2 extra 2.42 OS Disk for booting.
Mod Wheels professionally remounted and working
Backlight, like most vintage gear with the foil LED's, dim but completely visible (See pics and *Software Remote w/LED Display!)
No "Dead" channels but 3+4 have been menu disabled with low level Dist on them.
Int. SCSI fasten reenforced
Fully functioning Keys, Buttons, Faders and Sliders
Overall unit is in very good physical and functional condition!
