Neutron Sound / Orgone Accumulator Jam

Published on Jun 28, 2015 ISOTROPOSPHERE

"This is the Orgone Accumulator module by Neutron Sound, I built mine using the circuit board faceplate from Neutron7 himself, parts from the Mouser project cart, Tayda, Newark, and Sparkfun.

I had some trouble with this build and Neutron7 was so awesome for helping through diagnosis and pinpointing the probable cause. I had a bad Teensy and a bad push button switch, but all is good now and the module functions quite properly.

The Orgone Accumulator module is really quite capable and offers quite a range of possibilities, sounds and uses. I wont go into what it does and offers as it is quite lengthy and you probably know already.

We start off with the main output of the OA solo and slowly bring in the PWM voice of the OA as well. Fading in of the other sounds to this jam follows.
Phonogene thru Eko and matrixVCA. Two raw wave outputs from the Drum Dokta Breakout controlled by the Turing pulses and matrixVCA. Manual control of Drum Dokta breakout clap volume as clocked by the Drum Dokta2. Drum Dokta2 beat. Flame Tame machine is quantizing a sequence from the Turing machine which is locked a pattern I liked. Tame machine also providing main clock for all. While I was building this module another circuit board and faceplate showed up in the post (mail) which I guess went through after I had router trouble ordering the first time. Another OA is in the works and once again Neutron7 is helping me out with some issues. The parts are really crammed into the one board and delicate soldering is often needed, the few mistakes I have made have cost me each time.

Comments, suggestions and questions welcome. Enjoy!!!"

[Programming] Roland JD-Xi // 2nd ATTEMPT // 1st SESSIONS Buffer OVERFLOW

Published on Jun 27, 2015 LESINDES

"Certainly a strengh of Roland JD-Xi are its real time controls. I just took the simple default SAWs and manipulated them with the easily accessible real time controls and FX. Same with the drums. That was the plan --- if there wasn't this overflow bug that cought me again when I was finishing the recording of track number 4 saying "PATTERN FULL" -- What a pitty!!!
This video was recorded with Firmware 1.02. Actual is 1.10. But the overflow bug in my video is not on the list of bug fixes!!!
I will post the 2nd attempt in which I was able to create all 4 layers but encountering overflow as well in the end :-(
ROLAND WRITES about version 1.10
'[ Bug Fixes ]
The following bugs were fixed. Switching the program during pattern playback sometimes produces noise. The defaults for Compressor parameters are all 0. Analog Filter sounds sometimes do not change smoothly. Executing a pattern copy sometimes results in system hungup. Arpeggio behavior is sometimes erratic during arpeggio hold. When the MIDI Sync Mode is set to Slave, Tempo is displayed and the setting value can be changed. When Favorite is in effect, erasing an entire pattern of patterns is not possible. Noise sometimes occurs during Analog Synth Part play. During real-time recording at Scale = 1/12, the recording position is sometimes out of sync with the step. Arpeggio playback is possible during step recording. The information shown on the display changed when Pattern Length was set. The sound played sometimes changes between the first and second pattern loops. The level sometimes slowly rises when switching a program that uses Compressor. The sound of Triangle wave is distorted at the start of play when switching from a program using Vocoder to a program using Triangle wave with Analog Synth. Sometimes patterns recorded in real time goes out of tune during playback. When the keyboard is fingered during playback of a pattern in which pitch and modulation wheel operation have been recorded, the wheel operation is not applied to the keyboard sound. Inserting a tie using the Key Hold button during step recording results in behavior in which ties are inserted in other parts as well. Duration is erratic when a tie is entered in step recording.'"

"Also known as the Kawai S-100p, this synth is directly related to the ARP Pro Soloist as it was made under license from ARP (there's a sticker under the synth to prove it). It's a 32 preset, pressure sensitive (aftertouch) synth with many editable features.

This is a beautiful sounding synth with some amazing features such as assignable aftertouch plus a built in spring reverb and flanger.
It has that classic warm, angular ARP sound (I can testfiy to this as I own an ARP Odyssey and have owned a Pro Soloist).

Recently serviced by Kent Spong at KSR Restoration, the synth is full working condition. The only issue being the keyboard mode switch is stuck in regular mode one (as oppossed to legato mode I think).

Cosmetically, immaculate except for a few tiny nicks on the end cheeks and a mark on the top right where a sticker was removed.

Comes with original manual."

Phenol Sequence 3

"Quickie recording of my new Kilpatrick Phenol. Phenol is handling the bass, using its internal sequencer, Eurorack modular is handling the lead, one VCO, a nonlinearcircuits that I built for Eurorack with two VCOs, although this time they are sync'd. I am so addicted to hard syncing VCOs."
