Shoom is an expressive XY pad synthesizer. Or, more precisely, three identical synthesizers in one app. It is capable of playing any pitch in the audible range and doesn’t necessarily limit you to a particular scale. Nevertheless, if you do want to use scales, Shoom can deliver anything from common 12-tone equal tempered to xenharmonic and microtonal.

The ArduTouch Arduino-compatible Music Synthesizer Kit by Mitch Altman & Bill Alessi

This one in via Skot Wiedman, the man behind Motus Mavis and the recent Hyve touch synthesizer.

"Last month my friend Mitch Altman came to Champaign-Urbana and he debuted his ArduTouch synthesizer kit as well as his other cool projects for a guest lecture in the Interactivity II class I am teaching here at the University of Illinois.

Here we are in a photo taken by Mitch with the ArduTouch in front of the computer.

I didn't see you cover this cool little instrument yet so I thought to send it in. Here is the build instructions with a closer look at the project.

Hack the Arduino sketch, and make your own cool synthesizers.

Soon, the documentation will be good enough to learn how to use Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to make your own sounds for your own projects.

Minimoog + Gristleizer + AD4096 + Ampex ATR-102 Tape Warble

"The Minimoog is running through the Endangered Audio Research Gristleizer to an AD4096 analog delay (which will be for sale soon at Hey Day Music in Asheville, NC). It then goes into an Apollo 8 where it passes through a Neve 1073 Preamp to an Ampex ATR-102 set to 3.5IPS 456 formula with tons of wow and flutter.

For mixing, I used the Slate VCC Neve, the Manley Vari-Mu, Manley Massive Passive Mastering EQ, and finally back through another pass of the Ampex on 30IPS 250 formula."

"i was just goofing around with the new fantastic sample import function for Novation Circuit.
I uploaded some of my volca sample samples to it and .........well just watch.
The video goes out of sync sorry but i just wanted to share.
Enjoy and to the people at Novation I just have to say thanks ,This is a great firmware update!!
i hope the next firmware update will feature different samples and effects per step with pitch, sample length, drive and filter control that would be amazing."
