Moog 904-A Eurorack clone by controlvoltage.org DEMO

Published on Aug 2, 2016 Roberto Raineri-Seith

"A 'quick and dirty' demo of the controlvoltage.org Moog 904-A clone for Eurorack that can be ordered as DIY-project on my website controlvoltage.org (production files only).

The filter is fed with a single square waveform from a Mos-Lab 921-B VCO.

Various settings, initially without, later with frequency control from the same envelope used on the VCA. No attenuators used. Delay and reverb added.

Final note: the module was only roughly calibrated and not all transistors were matched, so for purist there is some improvement margin left ;-)"

See this post from 2012 on the controlvoltage.org 904.A, and this post for another video.

..about modular classics (1) - HerrSchneider

..about modular classics (1) - HerrSchneider from HerrSchneider on Vimeo.

"Nowadays some of the younger potential customers are expecting something like a demo button on their new modulars not willing to learn basic technical scills from adsr down to sample&hold. Making a patch on a classical modular system (like this one from Analogue Systems) could lead you to classical synth sounds with spherical athmos quite easy, but.. I tried to not follow this, what looks easy with so many modules in front of me. To let you understand what i did, you can find some explanations of the patch at the end of the video, I hope it is not too boring.

Please listen to the sounds with a headphone or speakers, you will hear the quality of the filters, the bass is indeed very simple. The RS-370 is able to do lots more, but this will need an extra video .. hopefully soon."

Eurorack Patch Performance: ‘The Machines of Iwato’

Eurorack Patch Performance: 'The Machines of Iwato' from Kial on Vimeo.

"An ambient piece performed with all hardware, that was recorded in one take with no over-dubs, or post-processing. Hardware used: a 6U Eurorack modular system, MOTU896HD, and the DigiTech Polara reverb pedal. This is a hands-on performance with the same patch from the 'Self-Generative #3' video, but here the setting and knobs are constantly being altered to create more of a song structure. The music is available for free DL via BandCamp-->

iTunes: SoundScaper - An experimental sound mini lab - iMusicAlbum

"What's New in Version 1.7

This update significantly expands functionality of oscillators which are the basis of sound generation in SoundScaper. With new oscillators you can experiment mangling the samples by using amplitude and frequency modulations, adding a natural dynamical noise and simulate any other failures by using degradation and unstable work of electronic circuits. All of this with addition of ready to use presets opens new space for constructing unique soundscapes and textures.

● Ready-to-use oscillator presets.
● New user interface of oscillator control panel.
● Improved internal sound engine.
● Amplitude modulation of output signal.
● Sine and triangle waveforms of amplitude modulation.
● Change PWM carrier frequency for more lofi effect.
● Simulate degradation of PWM circuits / decrease bit depth.
● Control of unstability of oscillator clock.
● Three types of generated noise like the real circuits.
● Additional control for level of noise.
● Two range individual LFO for modulation of clock frequency.
● Frequency modulation by output signal from other oscillators.
● Added the mode when trigger waits end of sample playback.
● Trigger can shift bits on address lines.
● Reverse shift mode of bits on address lines.
● Improved presets / samples list in the oscillator panel.
● Button for preview sample in the list.
● Added samples in built-in library.
● Updated description of the application.
● Description available as PDF on application site.
● Several minor bugs have been fixed."
