J-wire has to do with how the keyboard makes contact when triggering notes. There is a metal bar that runs behind the keyboard. When you press a key the back of it tilts up of course. On the back is a wire that makes contact with the metal bar and the note is triggered. I once picked up a "broken" Pro-One for $135, if I remember correctly, because it had a sticky note. I opened it up and saw that the j-wire for one note was bent upwards making perpetual contact with the bar. I bent it back straight and all was good. :)
"Cleaned J-wire, replaced lubed bushings so keybed play as close as you can get to as when it was new.
Classic monophonic cem-3340 oscillator based synth with cem-3320 filter chips.
Compared to alongside another classic monophonic synths such as the roland sh-101 this beast growls and roars like a angry panther compared to the softer kitten i.e 101"
Lovely example of pure analog synthesis. Famous examples of its signature sounds are abundant.
This system lineage:
Casey Young: Bought new. Designed keyboard setup for Rick Wakeman of YES. Toured with YES as off-stage fill-in keyboardist. Later, Casey taught synthesizers in Portland Oregon. Michael Garrison was one of his students, and bought the instrument from him.
Michael Garrison: Electronic musician and performing artist. Met fellow electronic musician Craig Padilla at a performance in Mt Shasta California where the two exchanged notes about performing electronic music live, and became friends. Sadly, Michael passed away much too young.
Craig Padilla: Arranged to purchase this instrument from the estate of Michael Garrison. This instrument was then used by Skip Murphy and Craig Padilla in their studio, and can be seen on some YouTube videos.
Skip Murphy: Well, we now have 2 of these ARP 2600’s, so it is somewhat redundant. Now is time to sell this one so that somebody else can enjoy it, and add to its lineage.
Recently cleaned and calibrated by George Mattson, of Mattson Modular. It is in full working order but missing one slider cap on Sample and Hold Rate. That doesn’t affect performance, and you could get a matching cap online if you like. No keyboard, just the synth. It was most recently used with various analog step sequencers, but any 1 volt per octave keyboard or source will run it. Will throw in some patch cords too, but it plays without any patch cords required, due to the unique normalization design. This unit is absolutely stock, with no modifications I am aware of.
Clean and no noticeable flaws, except for the missing slider cap mentioned. Minor scuff marks on the Tolex, as one would expect for an instrument of this vintage. Will be professionally packed and shipped UPS, as they have a good history with shipping this synth.
The EBay listing wants it to say it has 49 keys and an AC Adapter for a power supply, and an arppegiator/sequencer which is not true. I can't seem to figure out how to correct that in the listing. It has no keyboard and the power supply is built in."
"The 223e comprises two components: A 3-panel-unit tactile surface (the Multi-Dimensional Kinesthetic Input) for generating user control data, and the single-panel Tactile Input Port module, which provides edit / programming control for the tactile surface, and houses the control voltage outputs and the controls for the built-in arpeggiator.
The tactile surface features an ergonomic array of 27 velocity- and pressure-sensing keypads, fourteen of which respond to location in one or two dimensions. Pressure sensitivity ranges from feather-weight to several pounds. Arranged into multiple user-defined groups ranging in size from 1 to 25, the keypads can produce a wide array of user-programmed control voltages. The surface can be mounted in three panel spaces in a 200e-series cabinet (usually in the lowest boat, for playing convenience), or independently mounted in a 201e-3 Passive Frame.
Location, pressure, impact, and tuned voltages, as well as pulses generated by the tactile surface are presented at a total of 30 outputs on the Tactile Input Port module.
The arpeggiator features multiple patterns, internal and external clocks, and a variety of additional features. All settings, including Tactile Input keypad programming, can be saved and recalled by the Preset Manager on the 225e or 206e module."

"Eelectromusical key "ELECTRONICS EM-141" - odnomanualny, pyatioktavny, polyphonic, portable tool. Designed to perform pop and classical works as a solo or accompanying instrument composed of professional and amateur ensembles, as well as at home. The tool consists of the following sections: Section flute, percussion section, synth section, the section of the chorus-flanger effect. Flute and percussion sections are the conventional body structure. Synthesis timbre is from 10 harmonics by dialing their levels. Tembroobrazovanie built on pure sinusoidal signals to simulate the sound body "Hammond", vibraphone and other instruments. Synth section containing a managed device in a controlled filter envelope, simulates wind instruments (horn, English horn and other), As well as a wide variety of sounds typical of synthesizers. Section chorus, flanger enriches the tool, gives the sound properties of the instrument and spaciousness of the sound source simulates the effect of rotation in space. Camey housing is part of the security device housing.
The tool provides:
• high stability master oscillator frequency by the use of quartz-locked loop
• minimal error of the scale intervals relatively evenly-tempered musical scale
• the ability to shift the whole structure of the instrument by +/- 1/4 tone
• rich timbre of sound color with sound droop
• Technical specifications:
Number of manual registers:
- A set of flute tone 10 (16, 5, 3.1, 8, 4, 2 2/3, 2, 1 3/5, 1 1/3, 1, 1 1/2)
- Fixed switching flute 1
- Percussion with a set of level 7 (4; 2 2/3, 2, 1, 3/5, 1 1/3, 1, 1 1 / 2_)
- Bass registers included in the fixed amount of 2 lower octaves 2

"Alesis 6HD in very good cosmetic condition. All keys, knobs, buttons and controller wheels function properly. The only issue is the backlight for the display is out (as seen in picture). The display itself still works and is visible but it is not lit. It does not affect the workings of the synth. This is a beast of a synth workstation.
8-track, 24-bit audio recording.
Built in 40 gig hard drive
Four synthesis type:
QS composite synthesis
Analog modeling
Physical modeling
Frequency modulation (FM)
28-bit effects engine
Phrase and arpeggiation sequencer
The list is endless as to what this thing can do. It comes in the original box. Includes power cord and printed manual. There is also a DVD that contains hundreds of extra sound, supplemental manuals in pdf format, video tutorials and various other files and programs."
