Young Fathers - Shame | Guardian Sessions

Published on Apr 8, 2015 Guardian Music

"Young Fathers perform Shame live in session."

"In a live session recorded exclusively for the Guardian at Total Refreshment Studios in Hackney, east London, Mercury prize-winning Scottish trio Young Fathers perform Shame from their album White Men are Black Too. Fusing elements of post-punk, hip-hop and pop, their album explores themes of race, sexuality and identity and sounds at once mainstream, lo-fi and political. As the group's Alloysious Massaquoi says: 'Young Fathers are breaking out of the ghetto'."

Updated Korg Volca 5-way Power Splitter from myVolts

via myVolts

"In case you didn’t know, myVolts makes a super-handy cable for powering up to 5 Korg Volcas from one mains plug or USB port. It saves wall sockets, batteries, time, money hassle – and we’re proud to say it has a lot of fans in the vibrant Volca community.

Version 1 of the cable’s been available for 9 months now, getting used all over the world, so we’ve gotten a lot of user feedback. We’ve taken on board all the comments and made a new-and-improved version, available from September 2016"

The new and improved version now has "right-angled tips on the end of the five tails this time, it makes the setup neater and keeps the cables out of the way and going in the right direction, away and out the back of the Volcas."

"After a 3 month hiatus, I finally found the time to make something with my Novation Circuit. I used a limiter in Ableton to boost the volume. Everything else was done inside the Circuit.

SUPERBOOTH17 Set for April 20 - 24 2017 in Berlin

via Superbooth

"The upcoming edition of the specialized music and culture fair for electronic musical instruments, SUPERBOOTH17, will once again be located in an acoustically attractive space with Hallways, Concert Halls and buildings in the style of the historic DDR period.

Each day attendees will have the opportunity to attend up to 18 Gespraechkonzerte, a mix of diverse presentations, panels and workshops. In the outdoor area, you will find an excellent mixture of ethnic foods where starting middays, one can enjoy free concerts at the Lake Stage.

In the large open foyer areas, one will find the playful materials for free workshops and presentations, where unique cooperations are presently in discussion with related Universities and Institutions.

We received such positive feedback from the boat shuttle service, that we will once again offer the boat shuttle from Jannowitzbrücke, however, this time in addition one will find a small train shuttle at the S-Bahnhof Wuhleide which will take riders direct to the event. In combination with the surrounding Park and the pool located in the building, exhibitors and visitors can enjoy an effective relaxation on demand in the middle of the bleeps, bloops, noise, music and conversation. We are pleased and look forward to a respectful and constructive atmosphere.

With the partnership of the former Family Wellness Center of the DDR - the FEZ Wuhlheide, we are please to have found yet another location for the SUPERBOOTH with a special quality with an authentic charm.

(!!) For our exhibitors:

For the first stand planning, last year's exhibitors and new potential exhibitors will receive a booking option latest on October 4th. We ask all exhibitors to please give us your special location wishes or potential individual setup concepts so we may try to realize the desires by the 1st of November. Until we have your booking confirmation, all spaces which are offered remain available to all exhibitors.

Ticket sales to the general public will begin November 1st, following the final exhibition plan.

We thank you for your patience."

"Selling a fully loaded Simmons SDS-V vintage, analog drum synth. This unit is in excellent condition both cosmetically (more so than any unit I've come across on ebay) and functionally.

Comes with Kick, Snare, and 5 Tom modules.
Does not include with drum pads (price reflects this).
Everything on the front face plate looks immaculate
There is some normal light wear on the chasis and rack ears (but even this can be replaced if you want)
Sounds excellent and functions well

This is the biggest and baddest sounding Simmons (I've owned several) and has excellent sounding Curtis filters (same ones on SP-1200 and many classic synths)"
