CYMRU Beats 17 Modular Synth Meet Announced - Saturday June 17th, Cardiff
Full details: https://cymrubeats.com/cb17/
"Cymru Beats, the annual Welsh meeting for modular synthesiser enthusiasts, marks its third year in 2017.
We’re heading back to Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff again for a day of electronic music and sound, but this year with an even better venue, Chapter's Seligman Theatre.
The first modular synths were developed in the 1960s by legendary US synth makers RA Moog and Co. and the scene received a major injection of energy and popularity with the invention of the “Eurorack” system by Germanys Doepfer Musikelektronik in the 90s. The backlash against the computer and software, and the rush back to electronic analogue hardware is still exploding today.
As well as niche specialists there are many mainstream artists who have discovered the joy of the modular – including Depeche Mode, Coldplay, Lloyd Cole and Radiohead.
The evening performances will see some truly great and talented British electronic musicians and sound sculptors."
Performers for this year's event include Mylar Melodies, Nigel Mullaney & Ian Boddy, Martin Dubka, Wisdom Water, and Dr John Biddulph.
Make Noise Black and Gold Shared System (Sketch1)
Published on Feb 25, 2016

That’s my first experience with Make Noise shared system and modular synths as well. Music a little bit experimental, I used sample from Ingmar Bergman`s «seventh seal». Thanks to my friend Kirilll who made all visuals of this live performance, Natalia and Fedor Vetkalov (Synthman.ru) who helped me with choosing this great system and delivered it."

"A sampling of sounds, sequences, glitches, and just plain noise from Bastl's lo-fi modular powerhouse, the Kastle. These patches use a combination of patching the synth into itself and also with a Korg SQ-1 sequencer.
The Bastl Instruments Kastle literally brings modular synthesis to the palm of its user’s hand. The module is battery powered for maximum portability and boasts a characteristically lo-fi digital sound. The synthesizer has three voltage-controllable parameters—Pitch, Timbre, and Waveshape—and utilizes three different synthesis methods: phase distortion, phase modulation, and track & hold modulation. There's also a stepped waveform generator that enables the creation of pseudo-sequences, meaning this synth literally has everything one would need to create a modular progression.

"I'm just trying out the particle reverb on the Zoom MS-70CDR http://amzn.to/2rbAPAe on the Mother 32. Maybe not the most exciting thing to listen to unless you are interested in this guitar / synth effect pedal. No post processing of the audio was done, this is all the MS-70CDR."
