"In this video, I continue the repair of an OB-Xa for Matrix of matrixsynth.com. We rebuild the power supply and voice cards, and get the synth in tune and sounding consistent from voice card to voice card. I also show you a common defect with the voice cards that prevents proper calibration.
Parts used in this video series are available at my website. I also repair and restore Oberheims and other vintage synths for customers around the world."
Part 1 here.
You can find Synth Chaser's OB-Xa calibration videos posted here.

"Paia Stringz N' Thingz analog polyphonic string synthesizer from the 1970's This has the stereo add-on board. This synth was an early polyphonic model for Paia, and made use of the 50240 Top Octave Generator chip for the tones and the SAD-1024 bucket brigade analog delay for the chorusing. It has trememdous potential to be circuit bent, or restored to stock performance with very little effort. This will need cleaning of connectors, pots, and some alignment of the interior controls to bring it to its full potential. The C key 2nd from the top is intermittent when played. All other keys are fine. Looks like it was wired professionally, as opposed to the DIY version."

DSI PRO 2 PLUCKED PATCH SOUND DESIGN TUTORIAL ~ Synthesize This! Ep.24
Published on Jun 12, 2017 once upon a synth
"How to make a pluck sound patch from scratch on the Dave Smith Instruments Pro 2 synthesizer. I go over two versions of the plucked sound, one paraphonic and another monophonic. In paraphonic mode we can play chords but we are limited to only one oscillator per note. We compensate for that by utilizing the sub octave oscillator and some modulation and effects. In monophonic mode we have 4 oscillators to play with so we can be a little more creative with the sound. I utilize a noise oscillator to add a bit more punch to the attack phase."
