Lost In The Shadows 11-08-17 v1
Published on Nov 8, 2017 Marc S. Langelier
"Video Etude #1 - 'Lost In The Shadows' - Yeah, I know, I'm a week late on this one, but life is like that sometimes. What started out as an exploration of iOS 11's new screen record function, grew into a larger exploration of VegasPro 14, my own sound & video library and various audio software including AudioThing's Fog Convolver and Apps4iDevices' iPulsaret.
Featured Instruments/software: Borderlands, BoardWeevil 2015, iPulsaret, Animoog, Oscarizor, GRM Tools Evolution
Other instruments and effects: Fog Convolver, Reaktor, iDensity, Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch...
Other important software for this project: AudioShare, iFunBox, AudioBus, Aum, Sony Soundforge 11
Video sources: DJI Phantom 4, Sony NX70U, iPhone & of course an iPad
Video creation & editing software: Magix VegasPro 14
***Very importantly I must say many, many thanks to dancer Monte Jones who graciously allowed me to video him with the Phantom4 on a sunny day, some time ago.***
Note that I had also wanted to add some EWI phrases to this video sound track. As of yet I haven't recorded anything I like, so I'll post this as is for now. I'll hope to upload an updated version with some EWI soon.
It's easy to forget (I know I'm guilty of it), but if you like this video please press the like button. Thanks for taking the time to watch & listen."
Nexus2 Demo - Hollywood Synth Edition
Published on Nov 8, 2017 Synth & Sundry
"A demo of 5 different sounds from the Hollywood Synth Edition 1 expansion pack for reFX Nexus2 VST. I'm using Ableton Live 9, Alesis Q61 keyboard and a Korg Nanokontrol which I set up to work with Nexus2 (work in progress). In the video I'm using the Nanokontrol mainly to control the cutoff and resonance in the filter modifier section of Nexus2. I also briefly try out the arpeggiator feature in Nexus2.
I used quite a few of these sounds extensively in my previous music album which can be heard here: [embed below]
Link to the expansion pack: https://refx.com/nexus/expansion/holl...
Sounds:
SY Soft Soul
SY The Abyss
SY Pearl Synth
BA Muffled and Distorted
LD Passive Saw
I recorded the video with a Canon 50D using magic lantern (h.264) - a bit cumbersome but had no other camera!"

Senode iPad Quick Start Walkthrough
Published on Nov 8, 2017 iPadLoops
"Senode graphical midi sequencer first impression, walkthrough and brief preset preview.
*sorry for low mic volume. I was trying out a new interface for my phone and it sounded good in the headphones.**
I spent literally 10 minutes with this app today (forgive me for fumbling about) and thought I'd share what I learned. Hopefully this will give you a quick start. The first thing I wanted to do was write a short loop. You'll see how to get started right away. It's important to adjust the "ticks" for each note to get different timings. There is a lot more to this app and it is quite addictive. I can't wait to spend more time with it."

Tapographic Delay (TAPO) from 4ms Company and Matthias Puech -- Clocked Tapography
Published on Nov 8, 2017 4mspedals
"Demo of forthcoming 4ms and Matthias Puech Tapographic Delay:
The Tapographic Delay is fed with a simple melody from MI Rings. A steady clock from 4ms QCD is fed into the Tap input. Once I am ready to record a tapography, I switch the Edit switch to Add for a while; the added taps line up perfectly, resulting in the classic sound of multi-tap delays. I go on and add more taps, changing the clock multiplication; the repetitions add up into complex rhythmic patterns. Increasing modulation, the taps move around their position: the timing gets more and more sloppy, and we can hear the doppler effect, shifting the pitch of each repetitions up or down, randomly.
Direct take, no additional processing."
