Jen SM 2007 String Machine Paraphonic Synthesizer

"Here is one of the first 'stringer's ever made. The incredible Ensemble effect of this Jen String Machine is a part of the big reason this type of synth exploded in popularity throughout the 1970s and early 80s.
This is one of the synths that launched the movement. The reason this is a movement launching icon is the ensemble effect. This could be the start of and the definition of the ensemble effect.
What they all missed later on was the also amazing 'Organ' preset of this SM 2007. While Ensemble is the definition of the languid liquid triple phaser chorus and lept out of this synth and into 50 others, Organ is maybe even cooler-- taking part of the phaser's lfo speed and slowing them into a superb 'Slow Ensemble'.
Then there is the psychedelic superb 'Solo' preset which sounds like the growly summation of all Farfisa organ presets. At times it is my favorite but it's hard to ultimately choose a favorite when you've got 3 banger presets instead of one.

These Jen String Machine are one of the rarest synths. We might see another one become available in the next 5 or 10 years. Or we might just never see another.

Among collectors of the String synth-- a specialty where ownership is power, imagine the opportunity of owning perhaps the only shining well calibrated original out there. The next big string machine plug in might just be based off this exact machine.

Super clean, healthy and original inside. Time capsule condition in there, and Oh! The beauty, the magnificent rarity of capacitor and resistor coloration. It's like that Planet Earth BBC show-- the episode called 'The Deep'.

This runs at 220v."

Close to you (cover) on a modular synthesizer feat. Plaits, Rings, Elements, and STO

Published on Nov 10, 2019 Glownely Glow-Lonely

"This is a cover of the Carpenters song Close to you performed on a modular synthesizer.
The voices are Plaits, Rings, Elements, and STO. Hermod is the main sequencer, but everything is being clocked by marbles to create a push pull and jitter to the sequence. I hope you like it"

Soma Lyra-8 // Jomox M-Resonator drone

Published on Nov 10, 2019 nyppy

"Those 2 are a perfect pair. I didn't use any video effects by the way. The camera started shaking and produced these nice shutter effects by itself. ;)

Lyra goes through the M-Resonator. Octatrack adds some delay and Eventide Space is used for reverb (Quasar preset).

Dave Smith Instruments Poly Evolving Pads

Published on Nov 9, 2019 synthlegends

"Demo of evolving Pad sounds from the DSI Poly Evolver Keyboard polychained with the Poly Evolver Rack, so it has 8 voices. There are only PEK sounds on it and no additional effects, mastering or equalizer. Although there are 4 seperate stereo outputs (the same in the Rack), I only used one pair of stereo outs in this video.

I erased my video with the same title from two days ago because of very low audio quality. I have to appologize for it.
Some say the Evolver series are harsh sounding. Maybe it is because of some interesting effects like tuning feedback, distorsion and output hack. Neverthelesss you can achieve very warm tones and the instrument is capable for evolving pads thanks of the two LP Filter you can set individually in the stereo field.

Also with the 3 tap delay you can program chorus effects and take usage of the 4 LFO plus the third envelope and the step sequencer.

Even the digital OSC can sound very warm, when you use in a subtle way the Ring Modulator or FM effect.

The Synthesizer has a very big dynamic range. Everything is recorded life from the two synthesizers out from the PER mixer with two channels directly to the audio interface.

Thanks for watching and if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me in the comments below. Cheers."

Pics of the inside below.

"All six original encoders work properly, click properly with no skipping. All push buttons work properly without double clicking or sticking.

All LED screens and letters work properly with no lights or digits burned out and no faded characters. All 12 voices (VCOs + PW + VCA + VCF) tune properly with one simple touch.

All keys function properly. Even the inside of this unit as seen in the photos is spotless- no dust bunnies here!

The inside of this Matrix-12 looks literally brand new as seen in the photos.

All the silkscreen on the back of the unit with the "MATRIX 12" label and on the front show no signs of fading or scratches or discoloration.

Original wooden panels look practically new with little to no wear.

"Incredible paraphonic synth from the 70s. I've loved and recorded many albums with this lovely synth but it is time for her to go to a new home when the time is right. This is the model Bob Moog used to take on the road with him for audience demonstrations. One key is slightly ‘down’ (see pic) but still plays. It’s never bothered me so I never got it fixed. Serviced right before I bought it less than a year ago. Cosmetic scratches esp on road case but fully functional, plays perfectly.

This has a functional built in speaker and an awesome hard case the synth sits in. You can also run External Audio like a drum machine or different synth into it through the filter, ring modulator, etc. 2 lfos. gets weird fast. Also possibly open to trade for other righteous gear. If you buy this is recommend you ideally have a local synth tech, you know what you’re getting into, an incredible synth, made in the 70s, with the charm, quirks and characterful sound that come along with the inherent risk of owning a piece of synth history.cheers. Mutable Instruments Ambika Synthesizer with 6 x SMR4 Voicecards

"Ambika is a monster multi-voice hybrid synthesizer. You can play it as a 6-voice polysynth, an ensemble of 6 monosynths, or anything inbetween due to its easily configurable voicing architecture.
The sound generation is hybrid, combining the warmth and sonic character of a true 4-pole analog filter (or 2-pole multimode filter depending on the type of voicecard used), with the large array of waveforms offered by digital wavetables, fm and phase modulation. The digital control of the analogue filter and VCA also means a very large palette of modulation possibilities.

Some of the key features of Ambika include:

6 voices with individual outputs.
2 digital oscillators per voice, with 36 oscillator algorithms/wavetables.
1 sub-oscillator, also configurable as a transient generator.
Pre-filter overdrive and bit-crushing effect.
Analog 4-pole filter (or 2-pole multimode filter depending on the type of voicecard used) and VCA.
3 ADSR envelopes, 3 patch-level LFOs, 1 voice-level LFO.
Modulation matrix with 14 slots and 4 modulation modifiers.
1 arpeggiator, 1 note sequencer and 2 step sequencers per part.
Flexible mapping of the 6 voices. A single patch with 6 voice-polyphony, 6 independent mono parts, 2 layered patches with 3-voices polyphony, a 3-voice unison bass line on the lower half of the keyboard with a 3-voice unison lead on the upper half… all are possible!
SD-card storage allows the storing of a life-long of patches, programs and multis, along with the history of editing operations for undo/redo."
