Multivox MX-202 String and Brass Synth SN 230161

"Great Multivox string and brass machine. Basically a spec for spec copy of the Roland RS-202 string and brass instrument only that it goes C to C instead of F to F. This is a simple but unique instrument - there are brass, strings 1 and 2, with the ability to blend them. There's vibrato, a little bit of envelope control and the most epic feature of them all... the ensemble (Chorus) effect, which has 2 modes. There's something really magical about these effects - they turn a relatively simple synth sound into a beautiful warm swirling analog string / brass patch. I mostly used this with a stereo reverb pedal which gave me really awesome Solina-type sounds."

Roland FANTOM V2.5 Update Performance Demo by Youngr

video upload by RolandChannel

"Singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Youngr performs a live recording session using the free FANTOM V2.5 update with official Ableton Live integration and the new Virtual ToneWheel Organ. Using just his FANTOM synthesizer connected to his computer via USB cable, Ableton Live, and a mic, watch Youngr create an instant hit in real-time. To weave his track, he uses his FANTOM as a hub controlling Ableton Live, records auxiliary instruments, and taps into the wide selection of ZEN-Core sounds. And without the use of a mouse or keyboard, Youngr combines FANTOM’s internal ZEN-Core sound engine, including the new Virtual ToneWheel Organ, with the internal clip sequencer and Ableton Live to create this fresh track.

About Official Ableton Live Integration

Using FANTOM’s high-resolution touchscreen, you can view and launch clips in Live’s Session view, access Live’s mixer parameters, and trigger transport functions. And with FANTOM’s knobs, sliders, and pads, you’ll be able to operate Macro Controls, mix levels, Drum Racks, and more. The seamless workflow between FANTOM and Ableton Live will keep you focused on your music when the creative juices are flowing.

About the Virtual ToneWheel Organ

With the famous Roland VK organ series as its foundation, the Virtual ToneWheel Organ allows you to tap into an authentic emulation of the sound-generating process of a real tone wheel organ. This includes several tone wheel types with adjustable percussion, key click, leakage, and more. A lush rotary effect allows you to adjust variable speed, brake control, and tube distortion characteristics. And FANTOM’s touchscreen, sliders, knobs, and keyboard action are automatically configured for a natural organ-playing experience."

ARP 2500 VCO 1004 as LFO with 921 VCO

video upload by O.Z. Hall

"This video explores the unique waveform switching and summing of the ARP 2500 VCO 1004. There are a few good videos of what the summed waveforms sound like. This video explores the 1004 VCO used as an LFO.

The patch is 1004 VCO (lfo mode) to Quantizer ( minor scale ). Quantizer CV out goes to System 55 VCO 921 ( CV in ). The 921 audio out goes to a 1047 Multi-Mode VCF for some sound shaping. The 2500 Dual Envelope 1033 is provides a percussive envelope for the VCF.

The Swiss Daisy DSP ( ZebraSynth.net ) provides delay and reverb to finish off the sound."

UDO Super 6 Synthesizer Demo by Nightlife Electronics

video upload by Nightlife Electronics

"This is a short demo showcasing the wonderful sound of the UDO Super 6 Binaural Synthesizer. A catchy sequence that is transposed by hand and augmented with some live editing of the patch.

The Super 6 is a 12 voice synthesizer that takes a lot of inspiration from classic vintage analog synthesizers. But rather than be content with just remaking the synths of yesteryear, the brilliant team at UDO have taken that inspiration and crafted a modern classic synthesizer with its feet firmly planted in the 21st century. Using state of the art FPGA digital hardware oscillators running at insanely fast clock speeds and analog filters/VCA's they achieve a clarity of sound that instantly stands out while retaining the warm analog goodness that we all love! The Super 6 makes use of this cutting edge technology to push the stereo field to new heights with its Binaural Synthesis; essentially a complete synthesizer signal path per voice that can be phase locked and panned/spread as required. This leads to some truly unique sounds only achievable with the Super 6!

The UDO Super 6 is available now at Nightlife Electronics: https://nightlife-electronics.com/col...
