"The MKS-50 is a very rare synthesizer module from the mid-80's. It is the rack version of the Alpha-Juno 1 and 2 synthesizers. The MKS-50 is a six-voice polyphonic programmable synthesizer module, featuring a poly mode and a solo mode (that at the time was in vogue to use with a MIDI guitar - so that each string had one voice and MIDI channel - this was before the current crop of MIDI guitar interfaces).

The MKS-50 can store up to 128 "tones", which in turn can combined with performance control functions into 'patches'. There's also a useful "chord" function (when you press one key, a whole chord will sound) that techno/house artists of all kinds used and abused during the early 90s: there are 16 programmable spots for these chords although the factory-programmed ones are some of the most used.

The PG-300 is a very useful companion to the MKS-50, as programming become "immediate" and "hands on".

The sound character of this series of synths is a cross between the Juno and MKS synthesizers - The tone is silky and lush, but with some programming it can definitely sound huge, beautiful and nasty."

Mother 32, Plaits, Marbles, QPAS, Beads - Ambient Modular Eurorack

video upload by SyllixMusic

A blend of the Moog Mother 32 and Plaits as a sound source. Marbles triggers Plaits, and I improvise on the Mother 32 playing notes in the same key. The blended sound sources feed into Beads which is then filtered by QPAS.

Post production I'm using a blend of 3 different reverbs; Logic Pro's Space Design, ChromaVerb, and Valhalla DSP's Shimmer. I also had to attenuate certain frequencies a bit further. I hope you enjoy the end result!"

miniKORG 700FS - Quick Demo

video upload by ltpstan

"A quick demo on the new miniKORG 700FS with Kitaro Signature Sounds.
This version is true to Original miniKORG 700S, the distorted 'Triangle' wave is heard here.
The filter compared to the KORG 800DV is much resonant and aggressive. After hearing it myself, the miniKORG 700FS has a more 'Quirky' filter than the 800DV.

Thee Olde Tale of Moog Grandmother and thee Legend

video upload by Oblivion Corner

"Moog Grandmother analog synth and Synapse Audio The Legend VST are both played live in this loose dungeon synth jam. See how the much feted hardware analog synth plays along with a software emulation of the quintessential Minimoog.

Warm and relaxing synthesizer tones emanate from this live jam which has been edited from conciseness. Enjoy the blissful melodies accompanied by sundry picture in picture scenes from the Bayeux tapestry appearing to the right of the synthesizers.

You can see the Moog Grandmother lightly patched to expand its semi modular subtractive synth grandeur and allow for a richer palate of sounds. Meanwhile, the medieval figures echo the musical bewilderment and gently dissociative effect that synthesizer music can have on the listener.

The distinguished yet hesitant musical motifs counterpoint the genteel sonic timbre of the two synthesizer instruments.
