Synclavier Regen INHALT Factory Patches Demo
video upload by INHALTVIDEO
"As a young guy I used to marvel at records that featured the Synclavier. It was the ultimate ephemeral instrument; both a source of confusion as to what it exactly was and a source of endless inspiration via the records that occupied my fascination. It also cost $500,000 US dollars in the mid 80s if you got a fully specced one.
Fast forward to 2023 and at the heart of my Los Angeles studio (Infinite Power Studios) is a fully loaded Synclavier PSMT tower. Both a workhorse sequencer, astounding sampler and superbly organic FM synth, it is my purest joy to work on it daily. Few instruments have moved me the way that the Synclavier has. To my ears, there's something complete and done about what it sounds and moves like.
Enter the Regen. I was invited to contribute patches to the latest venture that Cameron Jones and other former NED/Synclavier developers have created. It is an immense honor for me to be involved with such individuals who have shaped and shifted music so deeply, that I am still beside myself that it actually happened. Here is a long audio demo of some of the patches I have contributed to the new Synclavier Regen factory timbre library.
As always, no additional fx processing was used. This is pure Regen piping out of its dual XLR balanced outputs straight into Pro Tools HD."
Groove Synthesis 3rd Wave - NEW Vintage Voice Variances - Classic Analog Character
video upload by Creative Spiral
"This video gives an overview of the NEW Vintage Voice Modeling capabilities in the 3rd Wave Synth. (Firmware 1.1b and beyond) If you want to jump ahead to the A|B examples of the sound, that starts around seven minutes in.
I joined the beta team before release, and worked with Bob and Andrew over several months to curate the best implementation of vintage voice variances on the 3rd Wave. This gives the 3rd Wave similar functionality to Sequential's Vintage Knob and Arturia's Analog Accuracy controls. I'm really happy with how it turned out... sounds phenomenal and makes the hybrid analog subtractive synth engine one to be reckoned with.
The control is currently called "Circuit Drift" in the MISC menu -- by dialing up that value, you can instantly give the 3rd Wave a ton of classic 70s/80s style VCO poly character... with all the lush phasing and temporal offsets to envelopes that is found in vintage poly synths. I recommend trying values between 70-150 for a classic 80s poly synth type of character, or for acoustic ensembles, like string, brass, choir, or orchestral type of patches.
This video gives an overview of the topic of Vintage Voice Modeling, and some A|B tests to illustrate the differences. I plan on doing some more videos soon, showcasing a variety of classic analog style sounds.

KadImprov #20 | ProphetRev2 | Mother32 | Fairfield Circuitry Shallow water | Ambient
video upload by KadiMusic
"Title: 'Pensive State'
I recently bought the Fairfield Circuitry #ShallowWater pedal and this was the perfect opportunity to experiment with it. For this one I wanted to bring a dynamic element with the arpeggio on the #Mother32. While keeping some simple chords on the #ProphetRev2 passing through the pedal.
Let me know what you think about it. Do you hear the pedal's effect?
I’ll share more about the Shallow Water pedal in my next demo. Stay tuned.
Thank you so much for watching. Have a great weekend 👋

One of my favorite 80s songs by Imagination
'Music And Lights' released in 1982 by R&B Records
I used the Moog Source analog synthesizer for the bass and for the lead sounds.
Additional sounds: Oberheim OB-X analog synthesizer for the e-piano pad and some fx sounds
analog strings: Logan String Melody II stringmachine
external fx
The Oberheim OB-X Synthesizer is one of the big legendary synths in music history. Different in sound to all later OB synths like OB-Xa, OB-8 or the new OB-X8. Here can you find the full OB-X playlist with a lot single sound demos, synth comparisions and one synth demo tracks. Enjoy.

JPTR-FX Add Violence on synth and drums (no talk)
video upload by Richard DeHove
"Add Violence is a fuzz pedal but I prefer the sub-heading from JPTR-FX "Planetary Disorder Unit". With just three knobs and a switch they've managed to create a very tweak-worthy machine. At first I put an EQ in front of it but soon took it away - the pedal does a better job by itself. An EQ after might be better but I haven't got that far yet. I've only been using this for a day and was so impressed by the sound I thought I'd better record it before any of the magic evaporated.
I bought this as a pre-order a few months back and am sorry to say I'm the kind of guy who constantly messages "Are we there yet?" Sorry JPTR-FX, my excuse is I'm keen. In truth I wasn't expecting too much. I've tried a lot of overdrive, distortion and fuzz pedals and at least half of them are woeful on synth. I don't know what it is but some of them do almost nothing except add an annoying insect-like buzz. So I was overjoyed at Add Violence - it loves synths and drum machine. Even better, it's silent. My dearly beloved Dark Glass B3K overdrive fizzes and hisses like crazy, but the Add Violence is silent. And when jamming I was torn between constantly turning up the volume and being worried I was going to vibrate the cones to destruction - this thing can really amplify the low harmonics.
There's still more to explore with this pedal since you can open it open and turn it into an octave fuzz. Until then I hope you enjoy this sample of its powers. I was going to blab and blather on this video but the sound seemed to warn me off - the dirt and filth must remain pure. Instead I added a few sampled quotes just to add a little color. Other than them the sound is as you see it: raw from the DB-01 into the Add Violence and a little delay every now and then from the Boss DM-2W. With the LXR-02 I took one channel from the stereo out into the pedal, the other straight into the DAW, then centred both, so the original dry sound is still there. The on-screen waveform is from the effected channel only.
If you like this format - no talk with a few little sample enhancements - please let me know so I can do more, especially since you're one of the good and true people who've read the full description :)
