"Dive into the 1970s with the Crumar DS-2 Synthesiser, an instrument that’s more stable than your average Italian sports car but with a sound that can get just as wild. A synth that marries digital precision with analogue warmth, creating a sound as rich and inviting as a Tuscan sunset. The DS-2 is kept in tune thanks to its pioneering digitally controlled oscillators (DCOs); and its unique, simple 'poly' voice, supports the equally unique mono voice you sculpt above it (highest note prioritised). This beautifully weird marriage offers a lushness of sound that could make even a seasoned maestro swoon.

Its dual LFOs, Moog-flavoured filter, and agile ADSRs are your ingredients for culinary sonic excellence, whether you're concocting the bass line of the next disco hit or simmering up some ambient soundscapes. In an era where synths often come with more presets than personality, the DS-2 stands out as a testament to hands-on creativity and the enduring appeal of Italian craftsmanship. The renaissance is now, so put down your chisel, and carve some soundwaves instead!

This is a typically Italian synthesiser, a very playful user experience with all the expected quirks and idiosyncrasies. Lift-off lid not included."

VG LINE TBX3Q3 - Acid Machine

video upload by VG-Line

"VG-Line TBX-3Q3 is a x0xb0x designed and crafted in Russia by Vyacheslav Grigoriev.
The x0xb0x is a complete clone of the legendary analog bass synthesizer, Roland TB-303, with a new, more powerful sequencer. This synthesizer, which led to the birth of the whole ACID subgenre of the techno music, has many implementations, but not all of them are 100% clones including identical analog part schematic and component set. Fortunately, The VG-Line TBX-3Q3 is one of them: a full clone, which uses even the same NOS transistor couples. The primary difference of VG-Line x0xb0xes is the use of specially picked transistors with β400 as were used in the original model by Roland. Only the 5th part from a 1000pcs batch can pass for the production of VG-Line unit."

video upload by Starsky Carr

"The Alpha Juno has been given a new lease of life by TAL. Finally we now have an amazingly accurate recreation of the 80's classic synth. Here I put it up against my original (my first synth) which I bought back in school ... THATs a long time ago! It was used then and its even more used now :)"

Bad Gear - Kindergarten Engineering

video upload by AudioPilz

"Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world's most-hated audio tools. It's Kindergarten Engineering !!! I’m still coping with NAMM 2024 PTSD and I wasn’t even there. Korg released the successor to a synth the world forgot, Uli is getting really good at selling faster horses and Moog decided to save the important announcements for a much bigger show.

Yamaha - on the other hand - returned from a groovebox hiatus of over two decades only to release a display-less Lego cigarette trying hard to catch up on a trend based on a device that was announced at Messe 2009. Yamaha - It’s good to have you back.

Norwich EMOM performance 7th March 2024

video upload by Molten Music Technology

"My improvised performance from last night's EMOM at The Rumsey Wells. Took me a while to find my way into this one, which is why it's a bit shorter, as I've spared you the first five minutes of cringe-modular where it's all a bit out of tune and not landing right. Something in there worked out eventually but it's not my finest work. You're not going to get it right every time."
