"At Superbooth 2024 we met up with Lukasz from Xaoc Devices who unveiled their new* Berlin* module.* Berlin* is an extemely wide range VCO module ranging from 30 seconds up to 250 kHz. That range is wide! It uses the Leibniz Binary Subsystem interface and can be used as an extremely widerange clock source allowing for manual and voltage control over all parameters. Berlin outputs simultaneous square and saw/Leibniz wave outputs and when combined with the Liebniz Subsystem allows for extensive waveshaping.

"At Superbooth 2024, Andreas from Endorphin.es showcased their latest offerings - the new Godspeed and the Autopilot modules. The Godspeed is a six HP instant auto-tuning oscillator with through zero FM modulation capabilities, analog wave shapers, MIDI control, pitch lock, and influences from both the West and East coasts. Next, we saw Autopilot is a dual auto tuner module available in a compact six HP format, perfect for tuning analog oscillators. "At Superbooth 2024, Giovanni *from *Fraptools introduced us to their latest modules, with a focus on the innovative *Bagai*. This new module is an expansion of the sample and hold concept, exploring both the CV and audio realms. Featuring advanced clock manipulation tools and the ability to be used as a downsampler or bit crusher, Bagai offers a wide range of modulation possibilities.

In addition to Bagai, *Fraptools *also unveiled a quadruple VCA module, *411 *offering four linear VCAs for audio and CV. This compact yet powerful module provides a versatile tool for distributing voltages and audio signals across a modular system. With semi-normal inputs and the ability to function as a quadruple multiple, this module fills a gap in the ecosystem, providing essential functionality for complex patching scenarios.

SUPERBOOTH 2024: Synthstrom Audible - Deluge Sequencer Synth Sampler

"At Superbooth 2024 we caught up with Reza from Synthstrom Audible who showed us some of the developments to the Deluge in the past 10 months since the firmware was made open-source. The keyboard has been improved, and though it's not velocity sensitive, you can now latch different velocity levels to the keys. There's now a chord mode, with a chord memory to improve playability in live situations. Its now possible to develop your own mods provided you know C , but the developers have made it so if you make a mistake, you wont destroy your Deluge. If you get stuck, there's a devchat Discord for support, with the link on the website.

Deluge has a full-featured internal synthesizer engine providing subtractive, wavetable and FM synthesis and polyphony is limited only by CPU with up to 64 synth voices playing simultaneously. Deluge gives you live looping of audio and instruments, MIDI clips, including easy overdubbing with layering and automatic tempo setting.

SUPERBOOTH 2024: Dirtywave - M8 MKII Tracker

"At Superbooth 2024 we met Timothy at the Dirtywave stand who showed us the new model of the M8 tracker. After suggestions from users the portable hand-held music device has been updated with a bigger battery, a bigger display, with USB C stereo audio in and out, TRS MIDI in and out, and side by side with the original M8, it looks like a great improvement.

The new M8 is backwards-compatible with the old firmware, which means the updates for model 2 will be applied to model 1. A ton of new features have been added, including the addition of 4 freely assignable modulation slots, and a new swarm synth *Hyper Synth*, with 13 oscillators that allow you to do chords. Built in chorus, delay and reverb is the final dusting of sonic joy on top.

"At Superbooth 2024 we met up with Alex for AMMT who re-introduced us to the Clutch module, a sample based high hat device. We saw it last year at Superbooth, but it's had some updates, including the new knobs with smaller arrows, and this will be the final iteration of *Clutch*. In use, you can switch, pitch and filter the samples, and you can control the release time, and there is also another side of samples you can switch between. Clutch has 8 banks of 16 samples, and naturally, you can add your own.

SUPERBOOTH 2024: Tubbutec - Brainstep Sequencer

"At Superbooth 2024 we met up with Tobias at the Tubbutec stand, who introduced us to the Brainstep module. Brainstep is a 4 track sequencer, clock distributor, euclidian arpeggiator and live recorder, with each track getting 4 ADSR envelopes which can be switched between linear and exponential behaviour, 4 accent envelopes, 8 syncable LFOS, and it even plays samples.

It's optimised for live performance and it has probability per step, and gives you 24 patterns which can be chained. It syncs via TRS, DIN sync or USB MIDI and there are 4 CV modulation inputs, microtuning, and it loads samples from an SD card.

"At Superbooth 2024, Sonic State caught up with Robert from Tangible Waves to discuss the latest offerings from the AE Modular lineup. With a growing palette of modules, now totaling around 130 options, Tangible Waves is creating an expanding modular format environment. One highlight of their showcase was the new quick swap case, allowing for easy module swapping without the need for screws. Additionally, the incorporation of MIDI support, powered by the MD main module, opens up a world of possibilities for patching and control within the modular system, including the use of polyphonic oscillators like the micro poly module demonstrated during the interview."

"At Superbooth 2024, Timo from Supercritical showcased the *Redshift 6*, an analog polysynth with six voices. The Redshift 6 features a versatile *Demon Core *DCO design that allows for up to 16 notes to be played simultaneously. The synth offers a range of engines, unique sync tricks for creating complex, polyphonic sounds, and it's 6 part multitimbral. The filter section boasts a multimode filter engine with customizable character settings and a phaser engine for classic phaser effects.

In addition to its powerful sound engine, the Redshift 6 includes a stereo mix bus with per-voice panning and a digital effects section with delay, chorus, and reverb (expected in future updates). It's all analog until the bypassable stereo DSP effects processor.
