MIRRORPLEX - circuit bent CCTV multiplexer

video upload by LoFiFuture

Note this is a video processing device and not an audio synth. LoFiFuture is a supporting member of the site.

Details follow:

"I only made one of these units and it is available to order here: https://lofifuturestore.square.site/p...

The MIRRORPLEX is based on a 4 channel CCTV multiplexer, a device used to view up to 4 CCTV camera feeds on one screen. In this configuration all 4 inputs are fed the same composite video signal and the user can adjust the settings to create crude mirror effects and adjust brightness, contrast and saturation on each of the 4 video feeds.

10 different circuit bends can be combined in various way via 10 potentiometers. This one is capable of some very complex digital artifacting and posterization effects as well as some rather cliché scrambled analog signal glitches.

Things can be dialled in so things are subtle and detailed or they can be pushed into full chaos. The different arrangements of multiplexed screens come off as quite artistic, you can select what type of border (if any) each feed has and name the feeds via an onscreen title.

The enclosure for this device has been printed on a multi colour 3D printer in PLA. The enclosure was sanded and then polished on all 4 sides to smooth out any layer lines and create a beautiful finish. The text on the front and back has a very fine inlayed look to it.

Specifications:

-Composite video In/out
-NTSC/PAL Compatible
-5-12V DC input (2.1mm Centre Positive) - PSU INCLUDED
-Dimensions 160mm x 100mm x 45mm"

Shallow Grave free cascaded filter effect plug-in

video upload by DecadeBridge

"Shallow Grave is a free filter effect for Windows and Mac.
it comes with a small bank of presets to get you started.
I find it works best with arpeggios and sequenced synth lines or full sounding synth chords but it can create a range of sounds including slow moving filter sweeps and glitchy, tripped out almost distorted sounds.

sintetizzatori by Stephan Ho

Just spotted this one in the previous post featuring SICK FOR SYNTH, whose videos have been featured here on the site.

The book is available on Amazon (affiliate link that helps the site but not the reason for the post), and Amazon IT here. Note both versions are in Italian.

Description from Amazon:

"A simple and accessible journey into the world of synthesizers, driven by a passion for electronic music born in the late 80s and enriched by a lifetime of experience"

Questo Synth Suona 96 Oscillatori (!) – Redshift 6 Recensione

video upload by SICK FOR SYNTH

"In questo video metto le mani sul Redshift 6, il nuovo sintetizzatore polifonico analogico di Supercritical Synthesizers. 6 voci, fino a 96 oscillatori, filtro a carattere variabile, MPE e multitimbricità: è il synth analogico più flessibile del momento?

🔊 L’ho testato in profondità: vi mostro i suoni, l’interfaccia, le funzionalità avanzate e condivido le mie impressioni dopo averlo usato nel mio setup"

In this video, I get my hands on Redshift 6, the new analog polyphonic synthesizer from Supercritical Synthesizers. Six voices, up to 96 oscillators, a variable filter character, MPE, and multi-timbral capabilities: is it the most flexible analog synth around?

Vongon Replay - Polyphonic Synthesizer!

video upload by The Unperson

"In today's video I am exploring the Vongon Replay polyphonic synthesizer. Inspired by classic instruments such as the Roland Juno and the Korg PolySix, Replay is a 6 voice digital poly synth with a pleasantly familiar interface. The simplicity of the the design and the quality of the oscillators and filter makes sound design a very enjoyable experience. I found it's one of those synths that can take you on a journey and I can see it being a regular player in my music life. I am a pretty big fan of this thing! Switched on Debussy & Bach on the Roland MC-202 & Roland System 100m.

video uploads by funkpirateradioscene

1. MC-202 does Switched on Bach
2. Debussy - Rêverie sequenced by Roland MC-202
3. Roland MC-202 Factory sequence data: Debussy - Snow is Dancing

"The Roland MC-202 MicroComposer originally came with a data cassette to demonstrate its capabilities as a sequencer. Since it could not retain memoy after power off, sequences had to be saved and loaded via audio inputs on the back of the machine. The sequences had one channel for the internal synth, and one channel to drive an external synth.

Here the MC-202 plays while also sequencing a Roland System 100m. Reverb and delay added in Ableton Live.

The 5 sequences from the original cassette were:
1. Invention Vol.1 – J. S. Bach
2. Invention Vol.2 – J. S. Bach
3. Dream – C. A. Debussy
4. Prelude – J. S. Bach
5. Snow Is Dancing – C. A. Debussy"

DeaR Sun 🖤 (Moog Minitaur / Waldorf Streichfett / Roland S1 / Korg Volca Beats / Novation Mininova)

video upload by 2-Minute Warning

"This is one of my most personal jams, hope you'll enjoy it 🖤

The NDLR is sequencing with:
Track 1: the Moog Minitaur (BASS)
Track 2: the Waldorf Streichfett (STRINGS)
Track 3: the Waldorf Streichfett (PLUCKS)
Track 4: the Roland S1 (ARP)

The DRUMS are coming from the Korg Volca Beats and the LEAD is being played in real-time on the Novation Mininova.

A couple of tricks I used here:
The Waldorf Streichfett has 2 engines (STRINGS + SOLO), which can be played independently if needed. This is what I did here, where Track 3 of the NDLR is sequencing the SOLO engine, and Track 2 the STRINGS engine.

I'm using one of the NDLR's LFO (Random wave) to modulate (by sending CC) the TONE parameter of the Waldorf Streichfett SOLO engine.

I've used a second LFO on the NDLR to modulate of the parameter the octave parameter of Track 1 (called the DRONE track on the NDLR) which is sequencing the Minitaur, hence playing from time to time a note with an octave higher 😉"
