"Here is a great package for any analog synth lover. It starts with a 1980 Oberheim OB-SX 4 voice that was overhauled by Synthchaser about a year ago... Works like a dream, all voices pass autotune. Has the synth king eprom in it. 56 presets. Comes with Magic Box Midi Editor that connects to the "Computer" Interface on the back. Also comes with a Behringer Controller that has the OBSX template loaded already.. Plug it all up and you now have so many controls to edit the OBSX!!! Synthchaser calibrated th OBSX as well as installed new key bushings. All in all a modern re-do and stable synth to deliver some jaw dropping Obie pads, brass, strings, leads, basses and more! RARE to find a turn key package like this and priced low as well!"

Bad Gear - 80s are for NERDS!!!

video upload by AudioPilz

"Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world’s most-hated audio tools. The 80s are oftentimes associated with Hollywood-worthy heroism, impeccable style and epic synth music that aged great - as long as it was played on instruments designed in the 70s.

Today, however, we are going to talk about K4. This digital synth , Kawai’s answer to Roland’s answer to Yamaha’s DX7 and more upscale successor to the K1 demonstrates impressively that the 80s were - first and foremost - VERY, VERY nerdy.

WHY OPEN SOURCE IS KING: 3 New Kits for Our 8‑Bit Eurorack Drum Module

video upload by wgd modular

"In this video, we take another look at UTF-8 SAMPLIFIED – the fully open-source 8-bit Eurorack drum module I released with ASCII Synth. It’s made its way into racks all over the world, and even into DIY workshops like the one run by mzourack at Noise Kitchen in Prague.

Now it’s getting even better:

Thanks to a pull request by community member poetaster, three new kits have been added: 808, Jungle, and Beatbox – plus a handy wav2c.py script that lets you convert your own samples into custom kits!

We built a 5 BAND VOCODER at Joranalogue Audio Design HQ

video upload by BRiES

"This idea was stuck in my head for at least a year before I finally decided to just ask Joran (‪@joranalogue‬ ) what he thought of the concept of building a vocoder using his modules.

The result is a crude 'proof-of-concept' 5 band vocoder that sounds a bit crap, especially on live vocals, but nonetheless it was a fun learning experience. I would like to repeat this educational endeavour for other ridiculous builds.

I realised afterwards that I should have documented the build process a bit more, explaining why certain choices were made. Maybe I can figure out how to logistically approach that for a next build. Looking forward to that.

Thanks to Joran and Frits at Joranalogue Audio Design HQ for having me, for providing a smörgåsbord of modules and for putting up with my relentless questions, jokes and general ADHD vibes.

Also: awesome video room amirite?!"

His inventions changed the complexion of the pop and classical music worlds. Moog synthesizers are considered high-quality instruments with a strong reputation for sound and build quality.
