Bad Gear - THIS is a JOKE!!!

video upload by AudioPilz

"Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world’s most-hated audio tools. Today we are going to talk about Digitone Keys. This 2019 FM synth, Photoshop gag gone wrong and lost sibling of the original Digitone who seemed to have shown a little too much interest in the family medicine cabinet not only comes with more or less the same underwhelming spec sheet - other brands are already embracing the meme power of its design philosophy."

Buchla 259e Bongo | 160 BPM

video upload by Akihiko Matsumoto

"Don Buchla’s electronic instruments can be understood as musical tools and as environments for exploration. They allow performers to play in a physical and expressive way, yet they also invite a method of working that resembles research into the behavior of voltage and timbre.
Buchla did not follow the conventions of keyboard based instruments. Instead he created systems in which sound could be shaped through touch sensitive controls, complex modulation, and freely arranged signal paths. As a result, each patch becomes both a performance setup and a place to investigate how tones, noise sources, control voltages and modulation can interact within an electronic space."

Synth Stuff Ep. 91 - Novation Ultranova

video upload by tritonrecordings

"The Novation Ultranova is one underrated synth. On one hand, they're kind of "old news," but they are cheap, and full of great sounds. The overall sound of the Ultranova reminds me of something like the Korg Radias, but these fetch much lower prices than the Radias does. Editing sounds is fairly intuitive despite the interface. Definitely worth checking out if you come across one. I use one in my live rig, since it's something easy to replace if needed, it weighs nothing, and there are plenty of them out there."

A Rare First Listen: Four Classic Oberheims

video upload by Jose's Vintage Keys

"I was lucky enough to borrow three beautiful vintage Oberheims from a good friend. Together with my own OB-X, that gave me the rare chance to put four classic Oberheim polys side by side: the OB-X, OB-Xa, OB-8 and EVS.

This is not a polished shootout or a scientific comparison. It is simply a first impression, a first test after the synths came back from major servicing. Just playing, listening and enjoying that unmistakable Oberheim sound.

Huge thanks to my friend for trusting me with these incredible instruments. I’m a lucky man.

In this video:
OB-X
OB-Xa
OB-8
EVS

Four legendary Oberheims in one room. What a sound."

A Roland MKS-80 REV5 demo

video upload by MIDERA

"April has not been an easy month. Incoming medical procedure (May 1st) and a whole host of other problems/issues... This track is a good representation of it, because my video was corrupted. So you'll have to make do without the visuals, unfortunately.
