The generative harmonic sequencer creates af diatonic field of chords from a scale, moves around between the derived chords (or intervals and triads) after a set number of bars (in this case 4) a portal into another scale and key is created ... by either reinterpreting the active chord, mutating on of the notes by a semitone, or converting it into its negative counterpart using negative harmony. In this demo the sequencer controlled an Elektron digitone, a teensy based bass synth (digitaur) and an Elektron digitakt. The sequencer has seven tracks in total, a bass track, a harmony track and a melody track and finally four drum tracks. Besides midi it also has an internal sound engine."

"Although the T2K is not 1 volt per octave it can work with unquantised 960 control voltages. The unique filter design has the loudest resonance of anything I have ever heard.I have reduced the resonant parts gain by 50% but it still makes you jump! Other synths and percussion introduced two minutes in. I wish this badly dressed old bloke would get out of the way in these videos."

Let's start with Decay. This controls how long the body of the snare rings out.

Noise controls the snare-wire character, letting you blend in as much noisy texture as you want.

The Impact switch changes the intensity of the attack, with three levels of punch from softer hits to much harder strikes.

Then there's the Wire switch, changing the tightness of the snare wires, giving you loose, standard, and tight variations on the sound.

And of course, Pitch lets you tune the whole voice, or add some modulation to get a little closer to industrial territory.

You can also press the Pitch encoder to mute.

With the audio inputs, you can bring in other sounds and mix them directly with the Snare's output.

Today your Legio is a snare drum. A quick USB swap and it can become a supersaw, wavefolder, granular processor, or something completely different.

"Overtonium is a 32-partial additive synthesizer laid out like a 32-channel mixer. Every channel is one sine oscillator locked to a harmonic of the played note, and every channel has its own tuning, envelope and modulation.

The control worth reaching for first is TUNE. It sweeps each partial continuously between equal temperament and just intonation. At the just end the partial sits at an exact integer ratio with the fundamental and the whole stack fuses into a single timbre. At the equal end each partial snaps to the nearest semitone and the same stack smears into a chord.
