"Horizon celebrates a world of ambiguous dualities~~ harmony/chaos, smooth/stepped, intuitive/practiced, manual/automatic. Built around an invertible heirarchy of pinged-filter cores, and a resonant garden of delays and filters. A rapid and responsive playing surface, smoothly blurring between textures or precisely sculpting a spectral landscape. Honed musicians and freeform experimentalists alike will find their own personal expressions within.

At centre, two Mountains of pinged filters, cross-coupled with smooth and stepped frequency modulation. These pings flow into a resonant filterbank and stereo delays, guided and recirculated by Tide sliders. The filterbank follows the path of 5 Bird sliders, collecting resonances from a playful just-intoned scale generator. Between these worlds flow Currents controlled by the touch surface, capable of wrangling chaos into pure tones or latching into sequences for otherwise busy hands. As the Tides ebb and flow, sequence & delay times are modulated in rhythmic/harmonic steps transforming relationships and shifting priorities.

Sitting proudly at the centre of a performance, or nestled into a larger setup with Eurorack CV i/o. Process external sounds, or use global feedback for an added layer of unpredictability."

"During the Digiscore Workshop at the Central Conservatory of Music, where I was invited by Professor Ken Fields, I engaged in a conversation with everyone about musical scores and instruments. We explored the relationship between musical instruments and people, as well as the dual-natured thinking that Trent and I condensed in our musical instrument work, "Horizon." The students at the Conservatory posed many constructive questions, and I truly enjoyed the intellectual exchange with everyone. "The Cricket is a solar-powered musical instrument jewelry. It chirps in the sun and can be played by shading. The patterns on its front are not only for decoration but also touchable. The three areas control three oscillators respectively. Pressing them will increase the pitch, change the timbre, and speed up the rhythm. There is also a touch point on the back that will interfere with the output and produce noise. A clip can be attached to the back to wear it on clothes or bags. You can also put it in the grass, and you'll feel closer to summer.

We synth players don't hang Labubu on our bags, but the Cricket 🦗🥳"

立夏赏小羽 Summer Begins, Wingie Upgrades

Today is LiXia (立夏), the 7th solar term of the lunar caledar, marking the beginning of Summer.

It was also in a summer when Wingie's first prototype came out.

So I thought summer must be a season of rich sounds—cicadas singing, birds chirping, poets from the past chanting besides instruments.

I wonder if the poet a thousand years ago, when he wrote: 'The lotus wind delivers its fragrance, the bamboo drops make a clear sound", was in a summer more pleasant than where I'm. But Meng Haoran (孟浩然) must have been lonely, that's why when he "wanted to make music," he hesitated because ''there was no bosom friend who can resonate with him'.

Maybe he should have resort to something else? May it be a resonator?

Just kidding. But Wingie is a resonator. It resonates with all frequencies it receives (take it rationally or subjectively).

Anyway, we make it to come to a new summer. Also, the Wingie firmware is updated. I've added a couple new features.

Probably, I do have some expectations on people who got Wingie—No matter there's someone who can resonate with your feeling, just feel free to make music!
