64 Buchla 259e Mod Oscillator Exploration
YouTube Uploaded by 7thDanSound on Apr 18, 2011
"Testing what the Mod oscillator sounds like, raw and modulated, through the 292e in filter mode, VCA mode and both. Modulation proved to be quite hard but I liked the sound of the whole thing and as usual, there are gems to be found in there!"

48 Buchla 259e Complex Waveform Generator Scoped
YouTube via 7thDanSound | February 21, 2011 |
"The 259e is an amazing device. Since last time I've had a few requests to show the waveforms better on the scope. I was a bit hesitating so I asked the very nice people at Buchla and they sad no problem. So here's a video where I try to show how the module actually works and what the waveforms look like. It's a bit longer than usual and may be boring to some but I thought I'd offer this for the interested. For the rest of you, just skip through and you'll find some examples of just how amazing this fine module can sound. I'm being impressed every time I play it and this video is just the tip of the ice berg on this one!"

77 Modcan Firsts
YouTube Uploaded by 7thDanSound on Jun 22, 2011
"I just had to go ahead and mount these babies so I could power them up and give them a spin! This is a very temporary assembly and will not last a week. Please do not attempt anything like this unless your are absolutely sure you know exactly what you're doing.

85 Modcan Quad LFO 61B Polyphony
YouTube Uploaded by 7thDanSound on Jul 26, 2011
"I use 1 channel of the Quad LFO in audio range as an oscillator to and sync it to another oscillator to make it track a reasonable scale. Then I use a second channel to modulate the rate of the first which in this case makes it divide the incoming tempo. Then I add another channel in audio mode to make chords."

91 How the Modcan Control 66B Works
YouTube Uploaded by 7thDanSound on Oct 10, 2011
"The Modcan Control 66B is a very useful module that records and loops knob movements for you. You can create LFO's, sequences and arbitrary modulations with it easily. This is a demo of how to work it.

39 Mankato Bug Music
YouTube via 7thDanSound | January 20, 2011 |
"This is a just for fun bug music patch. Just testing what happens when feeding a lot of FM stuff into an STG Mankato filter that is self oscillation. No demo and no trick this time so if you don't like noise or bug music, skip this one :)"

68 Making of a New Track
YouTube Uploaded by 7thDanSound on May 3, 2011
"I've been so focused on making movies lately I've forgotten how to make music. So a friend suggested he send me some MIDI tracks with notes I could put sound to. This feels like the beginning of something good. I do make use of the pseudo delay trick a little. The bass is Minimoog."

First 250e patch, and some Ardbeg
YouTube Uploaded by 7thDanSound on Dec 9, 2011
"My first patch with the 250e from a while back. I so regret I never recorded it properly, now this is all I have from it. Except for the sequence of course, it's secure in the memory of the 250e.

AnalogBitcrusher
YouTube via 7thDanSound | September 16, 2010
"This episode shows how to create a bitcrushing effect using a Sample and Hold module of a modular synthesizer. By clocking the sampling with a VCO you get into audio frequencies. Results with vary a little depending on your sample and hold module but hey -it's analog!"

75 Moar Modulation
YouTube Uploaded by 7thDanSound on Jun 9, 2011
"The 259e is capable of some very interesting sounds all on its own with the built in mod oscillator. Using external modulation that flows back and forth and in and out of sync opens up a lot more new timbres

57 258v Dual Oscillator Scoped
YouTube Uploaded by 7thDanSound on Mar 28, 2011
"I just borrowed a Mark Verbos Buchla format 258v Dual Oscillator module. I put it in my boat and this is my very first encounter with it. I have no idea what to expect or how it is supposed to work apart from the obvious. That's why I mistake the gray jack for a voltage output and try to drive the waveform input with it. This little thing sounds absolutely lovely and I'm sure it would complement the current Buchla 200e offerings very nicely. Definitely a more classic analog tone to it which I presume is due to the fact that it actually is very much analog."

109 Buchla Voltage Controlled Presets!
YouTube Published on Jun 11, 2012 by 7thDanSound
Audio comes in at 1:18 so turn up your volume too loud.
"Buchla and Associates just released a new firmware for the preset manager in the 206e and the 225e. It allows for voltage control of what preset to go to which means you can sequence the presets in just about any way imaginable. I've been waiting for this sooo much! So here's a quick video demo of how it works. The implications of what this can do is just pure awesome!"

53 Modular Synthesizer Polyphony Experiment
YouTube Uploaded by 7thDanSound on Mar 14, 2011
"Modular synths are usually not used for polyphony since making true polyphonic voices would take a lot of cash, space and time. But if you can settle for some limitations you can get some nice results. If you go for separate sounding notes and skip individual articulation (filters and envelopes) all you need is enough oscillators. And a decent MIDI to CV converter."

55 No Sequencer Sequence
YouTube Uploaded by 7thDanSound on Mar 21, 2011
"In this video I try to see if I can make a sequence without actually using a sequencer. So I put three square wave oscillators into a quantizer and let the quantizer trigger the sound of the patch. The three oscillators first run out of sync and then get synced to see how that affects the sequence. The result is very interesting and ever changing. Adding modulation furthers the experience."
