Elastic Melody is a standalone iOS application and AUv3 plugin with 3 channels of synthetic sounds, an analog style step sequencer and 4 master effects. Almost all parameters can be automated and thus changed in an „elastic way“. The focus of Elastic Melody is on a fast and intuitive creation of melodies with a basic analog sound. "With Update 2.4 structuring of samples and presets has been changed: InApp Purchase sample kits are now only loaded when needed, the more than 200 presets are now also available as free downloads. See Schloss Mirabell playing with Cello and iLep. The Cello has a pickup, which is going directly into an iRig Stomp box (iPad soundcard). Additional modulation gets done with a midi foot pedal.

"Elastic Drums update 1.9.4 comes with several improvements and bugfixes and 80 high quality samples by Berlin musician Phon.o (http://www.phon-o.com). The Moog Model 15 just plays some background notes sequenced via the built in arpeggiator. It is synced with Elastic Drums via Ableton Link. The original preset is by Red Sky Lullaby, where I replaced the samples with some new ones."

- Bass synth was playing 1 octave too high in old presets with pitch modulation

"Elastic Drums got reworked on the Midi Sync engine, now allowing to deal with latencies even.
For better hearing sync issues between the 2 devices, Elastic Drums is panned hard to left and the Korg drum machine to the right.

For my use cases for ingoing Midi Sync a delay value around -30ms was good and +10ms for outgoing Midi Sync. But this might be totally different for different devices and different use cases"

"Update Vers 2.1 comes with a lot of bugfixes and improvements but the most exciting should be the the improved Midi assignment and the 4 new synthesizer modules of the „Futuristic synths“ IAP. You can try and play the synths without any restrictions - Factory presets using these synths are marked with an (I). But to save a preset containing the new synths you have to purchase them. In the video I play with presets from Dead Fader and Servando, check out their stuff it's awesome !! (Links below)

Send Midi notes to Elastic Drums in Modstep via IAA Midi

"When you use Elastic Drums as IAA Instrument, you have to do nothing to make ED sync correctly, nor to send Midi notes to ED from Modstep. It all works automatically via IAA (Apples Inter-App-Audio technology).
IAA will send sync informations to ED and IAA will also send Midi notes without you having to change anything - neither in Modstep nor in Elastic Drums. Leave ED's midi settings to the default "No port / IAA midi" settings. And just send the correct midi notes from Modstep. Maybe have a look at the scale settings in Modstep. Set them to chromatic, to be able to send every note.
Modstep might behave similar with other apps, that have IAA properly incorporated.
