Quadrature Modulator DESTROYS JS Bach

Published on Jul 9, 2019 Sbranvlztronics

"The Quadrature Modulator comprises a Quadrature VCO (Yusynth VCLFO) and a "Dome Filter" (from J. Haible's Frequency Shifter)- see links bellow.
The VCO portion has 3 potentiometers (coarse and fine frequency tuning and modulation CV attenuation), one CV input, 4 outputs and 4 LED indicators.
The dome filter section has one input and two outputs. The outputs are 90º phase shifted from each other. The video shows the waveforms from the VCO and Dome Filter on oscilloscope.
Differences from Yusynth Quadrature VCLFO are the capacitor value (1nF instead of 10nF), and changes in the freq control (fine tuning pot, reduction of the CV input resistor value).
It can operate at audio and sub audio ranges (0.2 to 4000 Hz approximately), but 1V/8ª tracking is only marginal (~2 octaves).
There is no significant differences in the dome filter circuit.
Some examples shown in the video:
Quadrature VCO controlling 4 VCOs, 1V/8ª CV for the Quadrature VCO input coming from the CV Quantizer.*
Frequency Shifter patch using the Quadrature Modulator and two Ring Modulators.*
Adding FM CV to Quatradure VCO (from the Arduino Clock Divider Logic Thing Octal DAC).*"

Let them play together - homemade analog modular synthesizers jam

Published on Sep 2, 2018 Sbranvlztronics

"The black modules (left) are the Arduino Clock Divider Logic thing and Arduino CV Quantizer top right is the MSB Modular Synth B. bottom right the Matrix II. The patch uses 8 LFOs, 4 VCOs, 5 ADSRs, 3 VCFs,6 VCAs, 1 VCDelay, 1 S&H. The CV Quantizer receives CV from 2 LFOs and send 1 volt per octave CV to VCOs and VCFs, the Clock Divider Logic thing is responsible for all gates (using 7 of the 8 logic outputs), its tempo is being controlled by CV coming from a Sample and Hold output."

Yamaha QX5 Digital Sequence Recorder (MIDI Sequencer) LCD repair

Published on Aug 30, 2018 Sbranvlztronics

"An old Yamaha QX5 sequencer that was collecting dust for decades, and needed some repair (the LCD was fading). It was cleaned, fixed, and is working. I had only a blue LCD, so now it has a new look.
The soundtrack is the Arduino Clock Divider Logic thing, Arduino CV Quantizer, 3 VCOs, 3 VCFs, 3 VCAs, 3 ADSRs and 2 LFOs (analog modules from Matrix II analog synth and MSB Modular Synth B), everything built here at the 'Sbranvlztronics Labs' :) (watch the other videos in this channel in case you have interest in analog synthesizer modules).
Thanks for watching."

Sbranvlztronics Arduino Clock Divider Logic Thing: Circuitry and Build

Published on Aug 27, 2018 Sbranvlztronics

"Arduino Clock Divider Logic Thing: Circuitry and Build

This is how I made it, old style DIY hand drawn printed circuit boards... The soundtrack is the Arduino Clock Divider Logic thing, Arduino CV Quantizer, 3 VCOs, 3 VCFs, 3 VCAs, 3 ADSRs and 2 LFOs (analog modules from Matrix II analog synth and MSB Modular Synth B), everything built the same manner.
Thanks for watching."

Sbranvlztronics Arduino Clock Divider Logic Thing preview

Published on Aug 13, 2018 Sbranvlztronics

"First test of the Arduino Clock Divider Logic Thing module. The thing is driving a Roland SC55 via MIDI (drums and slap bass), and the ADSRs of two analog synth voices (VCO VCF VCA ADSR) on the Matrix II Analog Synth. Pitches for the analog synth are derived from the CV Quantizer (to the right in the video). The drum kit pieces are controlled by the 8 logic outputs from the Arduino Clock Divider Logic Thing."

CV QUANTIZER with Arduino 03 - breadboard playing

Published on May 24, 2018 Sbranvlztronics

"Testing the CV Quantizer: ATmega328 microprocessor (arduino) and the DAC0800 digital to analog converters are already on their respective printed circuit boards. The breadboard parts are related to CV input and output level shifting, 7 segment display, indicator LEDs and some signal routing / (de)multiplexing.
The Quantizer is receiving and sending control voltages from / to 2 of my homemade analog modular synthesizers (MSB and Matrix).
Enjoy.

Streamed live 1 hour ago Sbranvlztronics

"Testing new features: - 11 scales selected by a potentiometer or CV;
- 3 sources for tempo control: pot, CV or external clock;
- the 2 quantizer channels' tessitura can be independently controlled (low and high range) by pots or CV;
- transposition
- clock output (not tested in this video)

Thanks,

Sbranvlztronics"

Building a CV QUANTIZER with Arduino - 01

Published on May 2, 2018 Sbranvlztronics

"A CV quantizer with Arduino UNO (ATmega328) in its earlier stage of development. In this video the quantizer is doing its thing on two LFO waveforms. There is two independent CV inputs to be quantized, other parameters are voltage controlled also: scale choice, clock, tessitura (low and high note range for each CV input channel). Yet to be implemented are: synchronization with external clocks, MIDI output, if memory won't run out...

Enjoy
