"Here is a list of the things that set this LinnDrum apart from a stock one: 1983 LinnDrum - SN# 1270

- JL Cooper Midi mod - Allows you to connect to a pc and receive midi signals, so you can program the drums in logic etc and have the signals sent out to the Linn, very cool.
It can also be used to send midi to other midi devices etc.

- Added tuning knobs for Bass, Hi-Hat, Ride, Crash, Cabasa, Tamb and Clap. This took me 100+ hours to build the tuning board and get everything to work. I also bought the original knobs from Forat for $45. I didn't get to finish the sidestick tuning mod but have all the parts and instructions which I will include (the knob is installed/labeled).

- Replaced 8 sliders which were scratchy - I wanted this thing to be perfect so I bought replacement sliders from Forat for $15 each ($120) it took a day to solder them in.

- Replaced 2 missing feet and 1 slider cap with an original (will include spares from Forat).

- Installed large thumb screws which make it easy to open up the Linn to change sounds etc.

- I also replaced the batteries so it will be good for another 10 years.

The condition of the unit is fantastic with only a small chip off one of the wood corners (right rear) and a scratch on the Linn logo."

Linn Sequencer

"This item here is a Linn Sequencer manufactured back in 1985 prior to Linn Electronics [LE] closing down and Roger Linn moving on to develop the MPC-60 for Akai. This sequencer has the last latest revision operating system installed before LE closed down; 5.17. I was able to test this disk drive with some floppies that I picked up the other day and it does in fact work. These drives are very rare and cost over one-hundred dollars when you find them. The internal memory of the unit can hold 10440 notes. Using the disk drive, you can store 110,000 notes or more according to the Forat website. This is a prime example of awesome workmanship by Roger Linn and shows that he had the sequencers nailed before he started working for Akai. This unit here excels and gives you plenty of options. It's simple to use, as easy as using a tape cassette deck.

The LCD is crisp and the backlight works great. It passes the memory test as well. The operating condition is excellent. The cosmetic condition on the face is excellent, looks great mounted. The chassis is sort of beat up as you can see. The rear of it looks pretty good too! In this auction you will receive:

1x LinnSequencer [Linn Sequencer] 32 Track MIDI Recorder
1x power chord
9x ds/dd disks for use with the disk drive, there were 10, but one disappeared somewhere from the little one. ;)
2x floppie drive cleaner disks and no solution, but an empty solution bottle.

"The backbone of the track was composed during a live jam syncing the three Emu Sp1200s & a Minibrute for the bass. Then layered on top was some keys & saxophone, adding the vocals last."
