via Zebranalogic:
"HI, i'm Eduardo L. i want to tell everyone that i'm not working more in Zebranalogic. I create the 70% of the products and now i'm working in my new line of guitar effects and oscillators with midi (works ok!) and better versions of my first designs (osc III, osc IV).....i'm also working in my new web site where you will find pictures, audio and video samples...and more....coming soon my friends....see you soon!"

If you don't know what Zebranalogic made, click on the label below and scroll.

BugBrand Bug Crusher

via this auction. via SPIKE on the forum.

"There were only 15 of this particular model made at the time.

The creator of this noiz box makes some of the best quality extreme noiz gear on par with Frostwave and Metasonix.
Pedal comes with instruction sheet and power supply.
Power supply is labeled with a silver paint pen due to the fact I use a lot of pedals and it's too easy to mix up a power unit.

Here is the description from the Bug Brand website - http://www.bugbrand.co.uk/

BugBrand BugCrusher - Audio rate Sample&Hold for BitCrush effects

The BugCrusher is a Sample Rate Reducer pedal that uses audio-rate sample&hold to give a bit-crusher style effect. Other than a few digi-multi-effects, there is only one other hardware effect similar to this in the world - the Frostwave Sonic Alienator - we do things a bit differently, but give quite similar results.

You can plug many different things into the BugCrusher - connections are on 1/4" mono jacks. The active preamp brings whatever signal up to suitable levels and can be slightly overdriven for extra crunch. Adjust the RateReduce knob to change from full-rate/no-effect though fizzly high-end and down into sonic murk that sounds similar to a ring-mod but with a bit more clarity.

There's a modulation LFO (low freq oscillator) to modulate the SampleRate - with its own depth control, this gives variable shaped triangle or square wave modulation at speeds from slow (about 20seconds per cycle) to fast (about 20 cycles per second). The waveshape control changes the triangle shape from ramp through triangle to sawtooth or changes the pulse-width of the square waveform.

There's also a foot control input with depth control. Attaching a suitable volume pedal allows you to change the SampleRate with your foot - great for playing. And this socket can also act as an external CV input if you want to modulate the sample rate with CVs from, for example, a modular synth.

The BugCrusher is built into a mighty strong aluminium enclosure and uses the industry standard superstrong EH3PDT stomp switch for bypass. This is not TrueBypass - the audio signal still passes through the preamp when the RateReduce is bypassed, but the preamp imparts no change in tone. Why like this? Because the BugCrusher runs signals at higher levels than most stomp pedals ('cos its synth-based)

The pedal is designed on a modular-synth basis and so has special power requirements - the BugCrusher requires an 12VAC adaptor (AC not DC) and won't run off batteries."

Black Mountain--Stormy High (080221) [7/7]

"black mountain stormy high in the future british columbia bc"
I've received a couple requests to put this up, so why not.

via dp: "Thought people might dig the you tube footage of my pals Black Mountain. Jeremy Schmidt plays a moog source, the brain from moog bass pedals, a cx-3, and fresh new memotron. Schmidt is also an analog synth guru, and has a great solo synth cd under the name sinoia caves."

via J: "Black Mountain performing on Conan O'Brien, Synth player Jeremy Schmitt is playing a Manikin Electronic Memotron, Moog Source and a KORG CX-3. He also does solo synth music under the name "Sinoia Caves." In the realm of early Klaus Schultz, Tangerine Dream.

Pt 1 Analogue Systems rs370 module 6-Voice Synth + MUCH more

YouTube via bigcitymusic.

"Here is the multi-faceted rs370 eurorack module from Analogue Systems. Known as the "Polyphonic Harmonic Generator", it is a 6-voice polyphonic modular synthesizer w/ extensive control via MIDI and control voltages (CV) simultaneously. If that isn't enough it is also a polyphonic MIDI to CV converter!
* 6-voice polyphonic
* 4 oscillators per note
* 6 envelope generators( 6 stages and 10 control points) which can be patched out and back into the synthesiser
* 6 VCA's
* 2 LFO's (each with 5 waveforms plus midi sync etc)
* Arpeggiator (with 4 different modes and MIDI sync)
* 3 types of synthesis: Subtractive (using the built in analogue waveforms), Additive and Wavetable.
* 46 User Memory locations filled with 43 Factory Sounds that are held in Rom and can be overwritten or recalled at any time.
* Many outputs and inputs and further expansion can be obtained using either the rs375 or rs376 expander module."

Update:

Jean Michel Jarre [Oxygene] Covers Banned from YouTube

Update: see this new post for Jean Michel Jarre's official response.

No more JMJ cover videos on YouTube:

"Dear Member:
This is to notify you that we have removed or disabled access to the following material as a result of a third-party notification by FRANCIS DREYFUS MUSIC claiming that this material is infringing:
Oxygene 13 Jean Michel Jarre Cover: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8CY0rKXank
Please Note: Repeat incidents of copyright infringement will result in the deletion of your account and all videos uploaded to that account. In order to prevent this from happening, please delete any videos to which you do not own the rights, and refrain from uploading additional videos that infringe on the copyrights of others. For more information about YouTube's copyright policy, please read the Copyright Tips guide."

Update: it might only be Oxygen covers? Note the following is speculation:
"The whole story seems to have something to do with a conflict between Dreyfus and Jarre regarding the copyright for Oxygene.

Also, as I've learned by reading the forums, it seems that Dreyfus doesn't actually own the rights for public performances. Only for the recordings.

I don't see Mr. Jarre complaining... "

Why am I posting this here? Well a lot of the better videos showcasing what particular synths are capable have been with JMJ covers.

PROTOTYPE MIXER CRAIG ANDERTON

This one is not actually a synth, but a vintage mixer by PAiA's Craig Anderton. You can find it here along with a number of other synth auctions from minime123. Although it is not a synth I decided to put it up because of the link to synth makers PAiA as well as it's design. Every now and then I will put up posts of non synth related gear from synth manufactures to reflect on some of the other projects they took the time out to work for. For me it's just an interesting bit of synth history.

Free Roland Samples on Ohdeo.com

G-Red wrote in to let me know he has started a site with free Roland Samples. The site is Ohdeo.com. It does require you to register to access the samples in a forum type site. I asked him why registration was required and he said it's to prevent other sites from linking directly to the samples without credit. Makes sense to me.
