"I have some more pictures on my site, as well as a photo of the Buchla Box noise module."

I'm guessing these are part of the 40 that couldn't get in. Classic. I love these shots. Thanks for taking the time to comment barry!

Kitaro Synthesizer

"In this shortclip Kitaro tells how and why he uses the synthesizer as he does. He also has some criticism about the wrong use of that instrument. This clip can be found on the CD-ROM that was included in the Cirque Ingenieux Album. (c) Domo Records 1997" on Amazon

Experimentalists Anonymous Mini-Optosynth

YouTube via eaced. Casio SK-1 gets fed into it about 1 minute in.
"Demo video of the experimentalists anonymous mini-optosynth, a pocketsized synthesizer/distortion box. Audio was recored direct to my computer, with only the SK-1 and the mini-optosynth. A million other excellent sounds are attainable with different inputs. The owner of this box wanted simple waveform outputs (to run through effects boxes), which is why it just does triangle/square. Also, with less light, this box has a lower frequency range, but I had to have the lights on so that you could see what was going on! For more info visit http://www.experimentalistsanonymous.com"

Experimentalists Anonymous Frankenbox Demo pt 2

YouTube via eaced. See previous posts on the Frankenbox here.
"Demo video (part 2) of the Frankenbox, a rumbly/crackly synth-in-a-box with two oscillators, a VCF, a VC-LPF, a sequencer, an LFO, and various inputs. The oscillators can be controlled by various components, including a joystick and photocell. Audio was recorded directly from the frankenbox to my computer. PLEASE NOTE - the audio is not quite sync with the video, sorry if it makes anything confusing! Part 2 of 2. For more info visit http://www.experimentalistsanonymous.com"

Sota Fujimori

via Miles:
"Sota Fujimori, an artist affiliated with Konami's Dance Dance Revolution and Beatmania IIDX series' recently announced the release of his first album [there are some studio shots at the link also featured in the second video below].

In his music, you might notice he's not afraid to just put synths all over the place, he even has a track called 100% minimoo-G - lots of fun.

Beatmania IIDX [last video below] is supposed to be a DJ simulator, with an interface of 7 buttons resembling a keyboard and a turntable, but I'd say it's really more of an MPC equivalent of Guitar Hero (though it's much older than Guitar Hero). Notes scroll down the screen and you hit the buttons or spin the turntable accordingly, and for each press or spin, a sample will trigger so you're actually sort of performing the song. The game has a really steep difficulty curve, with the hardest songs having upwards of 2000 "notes" over the course of about two minutes."

AirPiano - Controlling Ableton LIVE

YouTube via omeryosha. via CDM
"www.airpiano.de The AirPiano is an innovative musical interface which allows playing and controlling software instruments simply by moving hands in the air. Above the AirPiano is a virtual matrix of keys and faders, each assigned with MIDI messages and ready to be triggered. The length of a triggered note is equivalent to the time a hand is placed on the corresponding virtual key. This is also confirmed by LED feedback. The AirPiano Software allows easy setup, loading/saving presets and transposing notes.
The AirPiano is still in its prototype phase and its concept of a virtual matrix might eventually be used for other applications and purposes.
The AirPiano concept is filled as a Provisional U.S. Patent Application (Number: 60/989,986).
Specifications: Polyphonic, MIDI protocol, Up to 24 keys / 8 faders, USB connectivity"
