Soundmachines - Klangmaschinen and the Hönig-Synthesizer

via swissdoc: "something I came across at synthesizerforum.de

Klangmaschinen website

Very nice electronic music stuff from Austria and/or used by
Austrian acts and/or shown in Austrian museums.

For instance:
the "Hönig-Synthesizer" (pictured)
Neo-Bechstein Grand
Subharchord II
Max Brand Synthesizer

Some sound examples included. Worth to click through all items." Definitely worth checking out.

Excerpt on the Hönig-Synthesizer pictured from the site:
"125 x 87 x 166 cm, ca. 70 kg
Metal, sound frequency unit (eight voltage controlled oscillators, twelve amplifiers with envelope generators, eight filters, three ring modulators and impulse and noise generators), control voltage unit (four digital 12-bit low-frequency oscillators, sample & hold, envelope tracker, control voltage mixer), control computer (SYM) with 6502 CPU, eight 12-bit digital-analogue converters, twelve trigger impulse outputs, software), matrix plug board (4 x 16 x 16), sound and control voltage patch bay

The control voltages and trigger impulses generated by the SYM microcomputer can be attributed to the envelope generators, LFOs, sample & holds, filters and oscillators on the matrix plug board and the patch bay. The EMC Compiler composition software developed for this machine by the composer Helmuth Dencker allows the use of a variety of algorithms (tendency, loop, random, transposition) – a hybrid system for complex compositions (without tape splicing and with purely analogue synthesis)." more

Moog Taurus 1 Pedals

images via this auction

"Custom soft padded case is included with the pedals. Other custom features. Include the white back plate. It is removable but quite handy for those dark. Stages...and if you get into the fancy foot work it makes the pedals easier to see. Does not effect the sound. There is also a light that is removable for storage. This makes seeing the sliders easier."

Anyone know if the light is standard?

Techno - MC-909 LIVE (Part 11)

YouTube via siedgey
"Evening all!
Thanks for stopping by. Here's a little track that I made in a spare couple of hours today. It's a rolling techno number with a bit of melody chucked in for good measure.

The setup is as follows: all sequencing is done on the 909 (no computer is used in this track apart from compression/recording), the Virus is running into the audio-in of the 909 for effecting and the whole output is running into my soundcard for DSP compression.

Everything non-percussive is from the Virus, everything percussive is from the 909. Hope you like it...as always it's just for fun. :-)

Thanks for watching!

ps My camera's battery died half way through shooting the video, so I decided to fill the rest of the video with the artwork from my first single, to be released in October! Woo!"

Circuit Bending With Reed Ghazala

YouTube via gearwire
"We head to the Queen City -- Cincinnati, Ohio -- to talk to the man largely considered the Father of Circuit Bending: Qubais Reed Ghazala. The thoughtful Ghazala strolls down memory lane for some of his early endeavors into the world of circuit bending while also letting us in on a few tidbits of information about himself. For starters, he makes a mean soup -- however, Sean Connery warned us not to ask soup questions in the 2000 classic Finding Forrester."
