Yamaha VL1m

via this VEMIA auction
"Excellent example of the classic virtual acoustic synthesizer, still practically unchallenged 14 years after its invention. Version 2, with the extra algorithms, microtunings etc. etc.. One owner from new (Ed Starink), and in beautiful near-mint condition - the photo doesn't do it justice, showing up some finger-marks that you don't see normally at all. With all original owner's manuals - Getting Started, Feature Reference, version 2, version 2 Voice Lists and MIDI data, etc.. Includes the magnificent Sitar factory patch which is one of the best synth presets ever devised."

Roland JD990 - VEMIA

via this VEMIA auction
"In absolutely superb condition, cosmetically and functionally. One owner (Ed Starink). Expanded with the orchestral card; complete with both original user manuals and patchlist. Supplied with European plug on (non-captive) unearthed lead - or to put it slightly more more clearly, that means that it comes with a lead like an old transistor radio at the synth end (little figure-of-eight-shaped thing) and a euro two-pin plug at the wall end. Adaptors for that two-pin plug are widely available in England, or the whole lead can easily and cheaply be bought with an English or American or Japanese plug."

"Sounding great, one owner, but not quite as perfect condition as most of Ed Starink's stuff: a couple of minor dings on the top edge, which might just still be visible in the rack. Still very very good compared with most of the JD-990s in the world!"

Studio Electronics Obie-Eight - VEMIA

via VEMIA

"Another near-mint instrument from Ed Starink, one owner, very carefully looked after. Check the photo to see how like-new this is. In perfect working order, fully tested, a very neat way of having eight voices of classic Oberheim analogue polyphony, along with the elaborate extras that the later OB-8s had in Page Two."

Roland CSQ600 - VEMIA

via this VEMIA auction

"From Ed Starink, an excellent condition one-owner CSQ-600 complete with original user manual. Such a great machine to interface with more traditional analogue sequencers and of course synthesisers. A little dusty but should clean up perfectly."

Studio Electronics P5 Rack - VEMIA

via this VEMIA auction
"Fantastically rare and sought-after: Studio Electronics' rackmounting and MIDI-ing of the original SCI Prophet 5. Bought new by Ed Starink, and kept racked (with ear protector washers like nearly all his gear) in his immaculate non-smoking studio ever since. Now at VEMIA for ease of shipping (like all his gear). Uses IEC lead (not supplied). Complete with the Studio Electronics two-page manual explaining the key-presses necessary to set up MIDI etc.. In superb condition, with the front panel looking just the same as when it was originally made."

Kurzweil K2000R with internal hard drive - VEMIA

via this VEMIA auction
"Fantastic-sounding and -looking rackmount synth, bought from new by Ed Starink. Just one bit of scratching on the top of the unit, but once in a rack it would like new. Complete with what looks like fully expanded RAM and optional P-RAM, and a 276MB SCSI internal hard drive. Version 3.01 software. Display says Samples 8192K, Memory 761K. Strangely on an immaculate machine, the headphone volume knob is stuck, and we decided not to force it. Complete with a huge resource of manuals - the massive Musician's Guide; the P-RAM Option Kit Installation manual; version 2.x installation manual; version 3.0 OS provisional spec; and most importantly two folders full of the Version 3 Software Musician's Guide Supplement."

Casio VL1 - VEMIA

via this VEMIA auction
"Classic old VL-Tone, a bit dirty - would benefit from cleaning - but actually much better condition than any you'll find at a car-boot sale. Complete with the operation manual in very good condition. One owner, from Ed Starink's studio."

Dynacord Three rackmount drum modules - VEMIA

via this VEMIA auction
click the image for the full size shot. "Three of these chunky Dynacord electronic drum units, not completely tested because there is only one power supply (Dynacord PAC 918, 18V and 9V AC on a 7-pin DIN)) included, but potentially powerful. Dynacord (a very helpful company) have provided the pin-out - see revised photo. Percuter eight track Digital Drum Computer with 8 cartridges: Electrified Bass 1, Metal Snare 8inch, Reggae Snare, Natural Tom 10inch, 13inch, 16inch, Timbales 14inch, Rock Ride Cymbal. Missing top to Pitch control; cosmetically 6/10. Big Brain 16 Track Digital Sequencer, cosmetically 8/10. Percuter S - like the Percuter, but with no cartridges, but each channel has an individual pitch control with on/off switch. Packing at VEMIA: £8 - heavy, and always more difficult to pack three heavy things in one package safely."

Boss VT-1 Voice Transformer - VEMIA

via this VEMIA auction

"Fantastic little voice effects unit, brilliant design, tweakable in real time for some amazing results - not just on voices, either. Near mint, from Ed Starink's studio. Complete with original user manual, product leaflet, and chunky original Roland ACI220J transformer."

Boss DR55 Dr.Rhythm - VEMIA

via this VEMIA auction
"One of the first programmable drum machines ever, cute, analogue, and in perfect working order. Complete with original user manual and sample rhythm book. From Ed Starink's studio. Cosmetically it would be an easy 9/10, except that there is the remains of a sticker on the back and part of the bottom. Battery compartment completely clean (batteries not included). Interesting serial number - 132800."
