WITH MIDI

"THIS IS DEMONSTRATING A SALAMANDER PROTOTYPE SYNTH WITH A NEWT 10 STEPPER, AND POLIVOKS VCF."
"I made 10 step sequencers based on Counter CMOS CHIP CD4017. In this demo, i use the polivoks vcf, a prototype Salamander Modular Synth, and the NEWT (brick red box). The Salamander has a Midi-2-cv converter. That is how i was able to play with a midi keyboard."

Update:

Optigan Radioaktivox Now Shipping

via optigan.com blogtigan!

"We’re pleased to announce that the initial run of our new Optigan disc - Radioaktivox - is now shipping!

We’ve done an initial run of 25 copies, of which we’re keeping two, and ten have already been pre-ordered. So that means that as of this writing there are 13 copies left for sale. If there’s sufficient demand to do an additional run of 25 (the minimum number we can order), then we will, but that remains to be seen, so if you want a copy of the disc, you’d best order it now!

We were able to drop the price slightly from $99.99 to $92.99 (plus shipping/handling), so those who pre-ordered the disc will get a $7.00 refund via paypal."

fluteTronic 8-Bit

The FluteTronic 8-Bit is a new way of making noise."

R-Tronic 8-Bit

"See http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?...
Press on a shape and it will make a noise, it will put that noise into one of 8 sound slots, the noise will now be made each time that slot is reached. So it is possible to make endless combinations of the 4 sounds. There are 8 LEDs(light emmiting diodes) for each sound slot and 4 four LEDs for each sound. It sounds complicated but its as simple as pressing down on the shapes to activate sounds and let it take off from there."

Noisetron and MemSounds

YouTube via grandtippler
"The NoiseTron is a new kit that I'm working on, instructions on how to build it here: http://www.inventimog.com/blog2.php/2...

A kit of parts can be purchased here: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?...

It uses a Picaxe 08M chip and 8 resistors into an ADC to make various noises. Its easy to build and requires no soldering so it would make an ideal starter into to electronics and micro-controllers."

MemSounds1

"Find instructions on how to build this at http://www.inventimog.com/blog2.php
What it does
MemSounds is a sound based memory game played in rounds. In the first round it plays one of 4 different sounds at random. Each sound represents a different switch in the device. After the sound is played you get a turn to copy the original sound by pressing a switch. If you get the sound right, MemSounds will play two sounds in the next round and so on. The limit is about 100 rounds."

Gershon Kingsley plays Popcorn 2007

YouTube via GKingsley
"The Composer himself at the August Foerster Grand"

Update: Excerpt on Popcorn via kingsleysound.com where you will find more:
"Despite the wide range of music Gershon Kingsley has composed, he is most well-known for a 1972 instrumental dance hit called "Popcorn."

Kingsley recalls that he wrote the primary melody to "Popcorn" in about 30 seconds. The song was first released in 1969 as part of a Kingsley solo album called "Music To Moog By." LINK TO: MOOGBY Then the First Moog Quartet, while on their nation-wide tour of college and universities, used "Popcorn" as their encore song.

In 1972, "Popcorn" was recorded by a group of musicians under the band name Hot Butter."

Modular synthesizer expression - Grenader

YouTube via petergrenader
"A short snip showing the expression that can be generated on non-traditional linear controllers, in this case the Doepfer A-198 ribbon used to control the presence of the sound event, the speed of the LFO pacing it, it's spacial location and it's pitch."

In progress : fiddling with the Juno on khoral's Cafe 80

"I spent most of my sunday stacking up parts around a demo I had done with the Virtual String Machine just after buying it...
For demonstration purposes, here's a selective mix of the Alpha Juno parts (that is, a bass line, some analog flutes, a string sound and a warm pad."

You can find the demo on khoral's Cafe 80

8-bit noise synth

"8-bit noise synth is my latest project based on HT-8950 voice changer chip. Like my Lo-Fizer and Noise guitar it can produce noises by itself or process sounds like a lo-fi ring modulator, 8-bit pitch shifter and simple guitar synth/digital fuzz. I've also added two body contacts that change pitch or trigger sounds - in particular mode they work like theremin sensors."
