OTO Biscuit Theremin Heartbeat

YouTube via bigcitymusic | October 01, 2010

"We ran a Moog Etherwave Theremin through the OTO Biscuit and noticed a nice heartbeat occurred when the Theremin hit a very low note with a fast attack. The OTO Biscuit crushed the tone to bits which was also aided in the effect.

If you are listening through cheap computer speakers, this will not sound like much of anything. You really need some serious woofers or high end headphones to hear the low frequencies that are in this video.

Thanks to Josh Flynn for shooting the video!"

It's like the synths of the time are all representin' - Minimoog, Oberheim TVS, and ARP 2600.
via It's Full of Stars. Anyone see them at Magic Mountain back in the day?
Video description:
"Not one, not two, but three, count 'em, THREE Ron Maels. Three very pretty Ron Maels.

If that ain't heaven, I don't know what is.

The 3 pretty Rons make up for the bad hair day (month? year? decade?) that Russell was having.

Update: Well well well. That Group is no longer interested in taking this video down. You can watch it as much as you want. But you still should buy the record "No. 1 in Heaven", it's very good."

TOM-1501 Soviet Analog Stringmachine

via this auction
"This auction synth was made in 1985 in USSR. Serial Number: 05211

• It's a string machine with 5 preset sounds: Piano, clavesin/Harpsichord, Alto, Violin and Brass. Alto and Violin are exactly same sound but violin is one octave higher than alto, so you can make "string orchestra" sound.

• Sliders are divided into 8 sections from left to the right: Main volume, Vibrato, Section volume, Brass filter section, left manual section, String orchestra timbre, right manual section, sustain.

• This to be like Crumar Orchestrator/Multiman-s clone.

• This have great volume control. you mainly control 5 volume sliders of each presets, and therefore you can mix and blend them as you want. The keyboard is splittable for two zones.

• It have 10 volume sliders for the presets; 5 presets for each zones so you can mix them in any way you want, which is very very useful. And then it have section volume, where you can control "main" volume for piano and clavesin with one slider, and strings with other one. Also in between them there is volume slider for bass. You can add bass sound for the left manual, and under it have bass' ON/OFF push button.

•The Brass filter section is the filter only for brass sound. It have controls for cutoff, resonance and also simple AR (Attack, release).

Looks and built very great -wooden body and sides!

• Connections: Phones (Under the main volume, others are in rear) with 5- DIN connector, piano, mono, stereo OUT on standard 5-DIN(adapters included), pedal input- soviet standard connector (not included) ."
